sharps problem was,he wanted too many utility players in the side.a good utility player is a valuable asset,like whiting.but when you have a team half full of them,you have no real stars.thats why he preferred motu tony to shaun briscoe.

I am fully aware of that hence the "I don't rate Agar one bit " part of it.
I was primarily replying to the ridiculous claim that Sharp was a class coach. IMHO he was nothing more than Agar is, and that's not much. |

Berrigan has been an excellent servant for the club but a lot of folk seem to have very short memories. MONEY COULD HAVE BEEN SPENT IN A MUCH MORE BENEFICIAL WAY. NOT A GREAT SIGNING.
Dykes when fit was outstanding however he was a gamble that didnt work. HIS BODY WAS KNACKERED ! HE KNEW IT, THE WHOLE OF THE RUGBY WORLD KNEW IT, ANY AVERAGE FAN KNEW IT BY MERELY LOOKING AT HIS INJURY RECORD. VERY POOR SIGNING.
Cussack is like berrigan , been an outstanding player for the club but just ran out of steam this year. NOT WHAT WE NEEDED, LOTS OF EFFORT BUT JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR WHAT OUR PACK NEEDED. POOR SIGNING.
And Byrne was one of the best professionals and most committed players i can recal, not the most gifted but he gave everything for FC that could never EVER be doubted!! PROFESSIONAL WITH LOTS OF COMMITTMENT I'M SURE BUT OF VERY AVERAGE ABILITY INDEED. VERY POOR SIGNING.
Poor post and extremely wide of the mark in my opinion. AS I SAID, A VERY VERY INEFFECTIVE RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN WHICH BEWILDERED ME AT THAT TIME AND STILL DOES NOW.
But i am sure it was he who brought us the world famous Hutch miava
