Release Berro or Houghton so that JH will have more 1st grade opportunities, as that is the only reason he has left nothing to do with money or anything like that.

Quite unequivocal - he says he wants to stay - however, I too did not feel that conviction from some of his performances this year. Certainly our "star player" can do it.... when he wants to, that is.

I disagree. Will be interesting to compare Hodgson and Houghton this time next year. Only a year between them, and if Hodgson is as good as you claim, Morgan's training and development will mean Hodgson has overtaken Houghton.

I don't pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes, Ian. I occasionally get told stuff but I'm not one of the 'in the know' club. As far as I can see Berro will be here providing he recovers from his injury.

And the club website has him contracted until 2011 - no mention of an option.


I honestly doubt this is all about money. Hodgson clearly wants to play at Hooker, and maybe he didn't fancy spending the next two years as third choice when he can go to Rovers and play first team.

On Airlie night he said he had another two to go becuase he was intent on staying for the 4th year! He infact said that he wanted another contract after that so that he could come off quota and play his career out at Hull Fc! I wonder if there had not been a fracas at the weekend and a suspention whetehr Tommy lee would have got a repreive......Nah I doubt it!

Fair enough. Just always looks a right miserable git on the pitch, which is maybe not surprising when he's playing with injections, out of position behind a beaten pack.

Hopefully some more players of his status coming in will cheer him up.

There are too many people on here who push their own agendas when young players are mentioned and try to make out as though everything is down to money and that once they are released that is it, which is not the case at all as Hull help the released players find Championship sides should they want to play at that level.

Then you have the fans who view results as important when talking about the Academy and Reserve grade sides which is madness as results dont mean anything as at that stage its all about player development.
