All my family/friends/anyone I speak to about the rugby.... "Wasn't f.c cr4p again" yep, player recruitment barring Mckinnon has been terrible, our squad is wafer thin, and still has no depth!
The best signings/players have actually come from agar!
Moa, Whiting, Mckinnon, he blooded Briscoe, O'Meley, fitzgibbon last season, Westerman!
We are certainly missing a Fitzgibbon this season!'"
What an absolute load of cack! Do yo know anything about the game?
Embarrassing.

Agreed.
Worst thing for me though is our lack of invention still in the opposition 20. Seymour for me needs to improve, and hopefully will with the weather

| Well that was one very cold outing I have to say! Sharp played very well, a worthy MoM and Moa did some great runs. I am a little concerned over our goal line attack which still seems pretty clueless at times, and there seems to be a lack of decision making on the pitch. O'Meley is coming back into it more but I'm still not happy he is as good as I saw him last season, maybe needs some game time to get going. I do seem to see more of Seymour in defence rather than attack, which is unexpected/odd.
We played some decent percentage game for the middle part of the game but I felt we should have kicked more of the penalties we were handed by them, if we had taken what was on offer iust before/after half time we'd have been 10 points better off (I'm usually all for the "keep the momentum" kick to touch but in the conditions it would have been more prudent to take the two each time).
We let them back into it, simple as, but Ganson did seem to want to "create" a finish - although I fully admit it is difficult to stay unbiased when you're there in the stands so take that with a pinch of salt!
A lot of improvements still to be made, but it is still early-doors and it's a marathon not a sprint. Main thing is I'm back indoors now and starting to warm up a bit!

Fitzgibbon was a top player, but IMO Lynch has filled the hole Fitz has left.
I think Aspinwall and Martin are playing well considering their limitations.
O'Carroll only made his competitive debut today, while we haven't see Heremaia.
Seymour was quiet today, but the weather didn't exactly make it a game for a no7 to shine.
So I fail to see where this 'poor recruitment' comment is coming from?

It's not entirely coincidental that the 2 of you that are unified in ripping into them today didn't go. Apart from the last 10 minutes we have rarely controlled a game so comprehensively in the last 4 years. Yes, we should have scored a few more points, but the swing in momentum McKinnon's brain fart caused today is massively overshadowing the previous 70 minutes.

| We must have some of the thickest fans in SL. I refuse to listen to any moron complaining about how we play etc until at least half way through the season and realistically until Gentle can get the players in key positions that he wants. Players follow patterns and it takes to get them out of those patterns and into new ones.
The most pleasingly thing was our pack was utterly dominant and wakey only had about half a dozen PTBs in our half in the first half of the game and only a few more in the second half. Other than 2 "lucky" tries they never looked in even close to scoring. The attack will come with time and yes it's frustrating at the moment but a bit if patience and things will improve.

| Sharp was great on radio! I don't think he's got a career in broadcasting.
But he sounds a real good guy.

Good Post
I also think that following Gentle's comments about not sticking to the game plan last week, the players played a more dull/safe game today.
I am a bit concerned that we only attacked down the right though, which meant that 3 of our best players (Briscoe, Yeaman and Manu) were left completely out of the game.
I know that in the last few years we were guilty of doing the 'throw it to Manu and hope for a miracle' attacking 'tactics' which meant we were predictable, but the balance seems to have shifted completely the other way and we are now trying to attack with Martin/Sharp who simply don't have the attacking skills of the other 3 on the Left hand side.

| Sounds like I missed a great interview with Sharp. Our attack does seem disjointed but you can't judge it on todays game with the conditions.
Hull were in total control for nearly all of the game and should have closed it out. Mckinnon looks class but he is prone to the odd brainfart, lets hope thats his quota for the next few games.
