Like WZebra I won a few bets at work and have been paid out so not really bothered really, suppose the whole thing stops up thinking about Saturday |

The league table shows the rankings at the end of the league rounds. The way SL is structured now the league rounds are basically a qualifying competition for the playoffs. We finished 6th in that sub-competition. However, the champions are not selected until after the playoffs and so the season is still 'live' until after the GF and placings for the top 8 clubs are not fixed until the season ends.
You can agree with it or not, but that's the way it's organised. The table is 'frozen' at the end of the league campaign because it would be too confusing to re-jig it after the playoffs - you'd effectively have to have a table that showed two finishing positions for the top 8 clubs.

You do a great disservice to the League Champions Wigan the most consistent team in the League , which is far more important than winning a play off competition. Wigan are the champions and only because of super league do they think that this premiership competition is more important than the challenge cup and truly league champions. |

Unfortunately in the SL the play offs are the be all and end all hence the dissapointment on all of the b/w's faces at work today. |

So if its true that the final table is based on wher you get knocked out the playoffs does that mean that if wigan get beat next week they have to hand back the league leaders shield.
