Quite possibly, I do think he still has an element of living off the promise he showed early on but has yet to convert convincingly into the first team.
I do agree he'd pick up a SL contract, I'm just not convinced he would at anywhere other than Celtic or maybe Salford, because I don't see another club where he'd be any higher than 4th choice in either of his positions.

I wondered what the noise was!

I agree, because I think Radford is now an out-and-out prop. IMO G Horne's best performances for the academy always came at LF, but I'd still go with Washbrook every time.

You have nailed Whiting's issue there, he is decent in many positions but not good enough to claim any as his own, we've maybe had too many "utility" players kicking about during his tenure for him to get the recognition he deserves from people like me (and a lot of others I speak to). If we can dump the dead wood, and I mean have a serious clear out, then a player like Whiting is worth keeping, especially if he is reasonably inexpensive, what we must NOT continue to do is carry King, Radford et al, we certainly should not be wasting quota spots on players like Cusack either.
In a way some of our injuries this season have been "lucky" as it ihas forced the club to make tough choices (Byrne, Motu etc.)

TBF it was posted at a time of high emotion, but I agree. Edited accordingly.

| Do Horne & Yeaman really deserve the flack they're getting?
If you're going to play a compressed defence you need good line speed. We're all used to seeing the 2nd man plays trying to pull the centres out of position, but Leeds didn't even need to do that. Hulls line was so slow they just passed across the face of them for some of the tries.
Fringe defenders like Horne & Yeaman are on a hiding to nothing if the guys inside them don't do their job.
If you want to see some really bad centre defence come & watch Chev Walker!

A fair point. Useless with ball in hand also, on the rare occasions he catches it.

Thats why we are signing more players, the entire current squad has been slagged off!

| To be honest I dont think G. Horne is the best player in the world. Maybe not good enough to play for Hull or in the Super League. But for all the tries did we not find ourself short on that side of the field with a scrambling sliding defence? One on one can many people stop snr and co. from that distance out?

| Can any of the G Horne haters on here name a player that is better who wants to come to Hull and is prepared to be 4th choice centre/6th choice 2nd rower on his wages?

I wouldn't say there are haters. It's possible to not rate someone enough you know.
As for money, few people really know. And IMO it's not a case of is we could get better for the same money, it's about the fact we have 3 or 4 all vying for the same fringe spots. We have Briscoe and Hall as reserve centres, Burnett and Hodgson for the back row, Whiting for both, and Lee who can do a job in the back row as well. I just don't think we need that many, and if we're talking money I'd suspect that all of those are cheaper than G Horne, with only the possible exceptions of Whiting and Briscoe. I've always said I'm of the opinion we need to make a straight choice between Whiting and G Horne.

Exactly! He is an excellent squad player, not every player can be a starter, we do need squad players.

| G.Horne is someone who brings very limited attacking abilities and large inconsistancies in defence to the table. Imo he is a shocking centre and its ridiculous that Whiting was dropped for him, and it will be be the same if Hall doesn't replace him when he comes back from Widnes

He's an average squad player, behind Whiting and Lee by some distance IMO. We can do without him quite comfortably.
