Yep, the same one who apparently held us back offensively for years. He did win two Lance Todd Trophy’s mind, but don’t let any facts get in the way of a good story.
I hope he gets a warm welcome upon his return from the fans.
Hopefully, he doesn’t lead Salford to a Golden Point win.

Lets be honest there is more than just Sneyd to worry about tomorrow. In all honesty if the 17 we put out tomorrow go out and put a performance in then Sneyd shouldn't be an issue but so far we have yet to see much evidence of any performance. We need to start out with real desire/intent from the whistle and massively improve our line speed in both attack & defence and stop giving away cheap penalties & restarts. If we don't then we give Salford a great opportunity to beat us.

And rightly so as he was part of the reason we have been so poor for the last few years.
That said he does deserve a good reception as without he contribution we probably wouldn't have won the b2b challenge cups with the style of play at the time.

What game?
I am more concerned about Salfords pace in the backs and the possibility that Hodgson is even contemplating playing McNamara.
He doesnt seem to be learning

| Sneyd will probably get a tremendous reception from Hull fans who recognise his past endeavours for us, he’s won us plenty of games home and away with that terrific boot of his. Marc had his differences with AP that hastened his departure. Perhaps it was the right time for both parties, he seems to have settled in at Salford.
Can young Macca come to the party, if he does play in the halves tomorrow, he needs to grasp that opportunity, show everyone the reason what our coaching staff see.
The vastly more experienced half, Reynolds, needs to step up, he certainly talks a good game, not seen much of it on the field.
Carlos returning with Jake may just give us the edge, our forwards even depleted look stronger than Salfords.

sneyd won salford the game at cas with his kicking and game management, so still has a game in him, up against an ex club/boss again tomorrow will more than likely see him at his best again

Doubt it
just get some of our bigger forwards running at him and not give him space.
Its what other teams did to us last season and you saw the results on Sneyds performances

I was once privileged to see him destroy a Catalan side in France, their forwards were much bigger than any we had that day.

Best of luck to Sneyd tomorrow and he does deserve a good reaction from the fans.
I agree right time to move on.
Reynolds is not a leader on the pitch even with his experience and its one of the reasons i dont want to see McNamara selected in the halves tomorrow. He would be a headless chicken. We need to use a short kicking game and start turning teams around.McNamara doesnt have that in him but Conner does.
Reynolds will work better with Connor as his half back.
The other reason is i just dont see what the coaches see to suggest McNamara is a future half back for the club. The same goes for Cam Scott. Not even a glimmer of anything special and both of them are devoid of pace

| Bit baffled at the suggestions of Macca stepping into gales shoes. Any Insight into the reasoning? Or is it just a lazy choice?
I may be wrong but Mcnamara has mainly stepped in as a Reynolds replacement. He really doesn't have the Gale/Sneyd skillset to cover the role. It'd be asking an Academy lad who's not looked ready, to further take on even more responsibilities in the organisation role, I've not seen anything from. Him to suggest he's anywhere near assertive enough or has the necessary kicking game.
Connor to fill Gales shoes all day, has the kicking game and rugby brain to plug the gap.....
I think we're asking for defeat putting someone as inexperienced as Mcnamara there.
Macintosh at fullback is a far less risk

| I'm sure Sneyd will get a good reception from the Hull crowd although there will be sarcastic shouts of "Sneeeeeeeeyd" should he miss conversions of course. He has settled in well at Salford and the move seems to have given him a new lease of life.
Whether all his former teammates will be as happy to see him is another matter. One remarked on his departure "Good riddance, he was the worst trainer at the club".

Cam Scott actually has plenty of pace, he’s made a few gallops I can recall, usually ending in poor decisions making though, he does need to work on his defensive game, but that can be improved, he’s young still, and remembering Kirk Yeamos debut at the Boulevard, he was ripped to pieces by Martin Gleeson, but what a fine defensive centre he was to become.
Unfortunately any lads we do introduce to the first team, always seem to be in struggling teams, Macca especially
Of course we all see the game differently, and your appraisal of him may be correct, as I say he must take his chance.
You would think with his fabulous skill set Jake could also run the show from the halves, but for some inexplicable reason, he’s mainly shone at centre, but especially full back.
