Or interacting through this type of medium, deprives us of key elements of communication like body language and facial expression. Maybe a complex world makes appropriately directing anger more difficult, leading to more anger.

I'm not sure it is such a new tendency though. People have been arguing and taking the moral high ground since forever, and accusing others of hypocrisy when they do the same.
