Its to do with ball speed from the pass and drawing in the defender.What we do is pass 5 metres from the line with a slow ball speed making it easy for the defence.
As you say we never seem to improve this area of our attacking play.
Apart from the teams you mention even Salford and HKR stretch a defence to score walk in tries in the corners where as we have to use a dive of strength to score in the corner or a Sneyd kick.

Griffin seems to be Radfords golden boy.
