Really impressed with Abdull. A big thank you to Rovers for helping him develop for our benefit.

Thought Masi went well too.

Happy with th performance last night. It's always difficult to predict how a side will start a season, and in this case whether we'd be effected by the Aus trip, but I thought we looked very fit, and seemed to be a step ahead of Huddersfield.

Kelly & Sneyd were great in their own ways, Faraimo will fit in well as he's more than willing to come looking for work, Paea slotted in like he's never been away.

Special mention to Abdull, who's introduction at 13 changed the game. It was clear that with Hudds' big pack we weren't going to steamroller them, and adding a 3rd pivot worked perfectly. Hadley put himself about, as did Matongo. Bowden looks the fittest I've seen him.

A decent warm up ahead of next week.

Was impressed with all the backs coming out of our own half. All of them put a shift in and took carries up. Connor and Shaul especially pleasing to see given their slimmer figure compared to Tala, Bureta and Griffin.

Abdull has always had the talent, but his fitness level has improved massively.

Bowden really impressed, particularly as it was his 1st game after shoulder surgery.

Danny Brough - he'd had enough by half time, which helped.

One negative - one or two tries would probably have been chalked off for obstruction if the game had been televised.

I'll agree with that and was my only criticism of him, a quick pass and Kelly was in.
Taking the 2 when we were so dominant was a wrong decision imo. I understand the points on the board need, but this wasn't like Wakey away last season where tries were never going to come easy. We had them on the rack and I think we'd have scored at least one, if not 2 early tries and as we saw in the second half, their heads went down very easily. It could've been a cricket score!

Really don't understand why some posters keep knocking turgut. He`s a kid, give him time. He`s got a bit of fire in his belly. It could well do him some good to go out on loan where he`s not under the spotlight so much.

Masi, my only criticism ( constructive ) is that I wish he had a bit more aggression in him.
maybe there is some spare O meley face rub in the changing room he could use.

I like Turgut. I like the fact he's got a bit of mongrel in him. Reminds me for some reason of Bateman at Wigan. Still got plenty of time to develop. Radford must see something in him to have him on the bench when there where other options available.

I said that MM needed to believe in himself and really let himself go, seems to hold back a bit, watched him in the academy and he's clearly got talent and some pace, maybe he'll get the belief and make further strides the more game time he gets,

As for Turgut, Radford has let go better players at the same age and not given them a chance despite performing better than Turgut has who had a lot of games last year. Turgut was bigged up by some as being the next big thing, on the back of him being the academy captain I guess, I never watched him before making his debut other than in the academy England game highlights but so far he hasn't stood out as anything special and has shown he doesn't have a good temperament.

Great second half effort by us, would have been bitterly disappointed to lose against a side like Hudds.

Name one player as good as Turgut who has been released without a chance?

It was like a red rag to a bull. He'll be frothing at the mouth and concocting a reply about HTW, tommy lee, craig hall et al

icon_lol.gif Bumpy can't name any players.

I was interested to check Radford's record and went back to see which youngsters we released. In Superleague we have Miller and Rankin but they are Aussies. Ben Crooks is at Leigh. Cunningham at London. Rawsthorne went to Toronto and then we've a couple at Doncaster and York.

I think its clear that Radders has got his youth policy spot on.

Abdull should be given an extended run at loose man as it makes for much more creativity in the side. Last nights game proves the point we were much more impressive when he appeared. He also is a strong direct runner if we need to play that way.
Masi was also good but I think he needs to be more agressive in contact but I'm sure that will come in time. Overall good performance.

I'm still trying to think of a young second rower who might qualify - none so far.
