All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| Westerman would be great if he didn't try to be a one man army two plays every set. Can any coach get him there though?

To be perfectly honest NO. As good as Westerman can be he is just not consistent enough, plus as a club we have moved on.

Fair point Chris, it looks like Mini will go another year and maybe Ellis will also, just can't see how we can replace either of those with similar quality.
Hopefully one will be internally (Turgut or Abdul) and an overseas player for the other.

| Personally I think that you only have to look at the improvement in our organisation out on the field without him constantly wanting to jump into the action and our attitude on and off it since he and Lineham left, to answer that one I think that!

Replacing Ellis & Mini is an almost impossible task and Motu really has his work cut out to replace one of them let alone both when the time comes. Its not just their ability in the field either that will be a massive hole to fill its whats they bring to the club off field as well.
As Pete mentioned the improvement in professionlism & attitude in the team since Westy & Lineham have gone can not go un noticed neither can the consistency now in Watts' game be ignored either.

| I think we need only look at the work Motu has already done to know that he will replace one or both with exactly what we need

| I think we have a few developing leaders already in Watts, Taylor and Sneyd (more tactical, but still). Houghton doesn't seem vocal enough for me, what we'll miss with Ellis and Mini is how they get the forwards moving.

| I think Westerman has become more consistent since he joined Wire.
As has Wattsy for us during the same period.
I did like Joe in b&w, but was frustrated waiting for him to fulfil his potential. Seemed there were just as many rocks as diamonds with us.
Overall, I think he's improved though, fewer missed tackles and fewer of the "gone missing" periods that he used to have with us.
Throughout the present Wire implosion, Joe has received praise from the Wire faithful, and he now he looks like one of their better performers. I wouldn't be disappointed if he came back, and if he had another season of improvement, who knows, he might even be a preferred choice. A years a long time in RL.
Nothing like hedging your bets is there.

| I thought Westerman and Lineham said they left us to go to a bigger club and win trophies so why would they ever want to drop down again!!!

| Now the cap is increased I hope that allows us to keep Kelly and bring in an impact quota forward in place of Thompson and Michaels

Jesse Sene-Lafao would fit the bill.

That type of player would be great, I like Taai at Hudds, not sure his contract situation but must be getting fed up at Hudds.
Must be a NRL fringe type project player.

Yes, but I'd prefer a backrower, Ellis moves up to prop and we have Abdul to play LF.
I don't expect to see much movement for next year.
