Any game in which we make that many basic errors is disappointing IMO.
As for the rest...
Coulda, shouda, woulda.

Could say the same for Sts but they didn't split us as much as what we did...scored off 2 kicks which is our Achilles but don't let that stop your view from your armchair and radio.Yes we made errors but what team doesn't,Sts did as well but nobody mentioning that are they.

Agree with this. Encouraging signs and we finished stronger IMO. Deserved a point against the champions and 2nd placed team. Surely that's some progress from 6 weeks ago?

We've been asking for more expansive play and now we have it. I think as fans that if we want that sort of play we have accept we'll have nights where it doesn't come off. On another night those passes and catches would have stuck and we'd be singing their praises.
I agree that some work needs to be done on skills as those should stick the majority of the time.
However I came away from that game more heartened than any of the drab wins I've watched.
There was passion and atmosphere back at the KC.

| Ref was dire but we cant ignore that yet again there were many basic errors, we must have the worst passing ability in the league! Saints still had a few players missing and just seemed to go through the motions and waste time, yet we still cam away with zero points.
Yet again our best players were our 'old timers' Minichello and Pryce who continue to perform well but are hardly long term options. Ellis hobbled off yet again, the decision to extend his deal for another year is starting to look like poor business.
Sadly I didn't see much tonight to change my opinion that we'll be bottom 4

It is. A disappointing outcome tonight but plenty of encouraging signs.
Cut out the handling errors and with the same levels of commitment we'll make the top eight.

| I thought we gave it real good go tonight but made far more errors than Saints did.
The referee was awful but none of his decisions were game changers apart from the obvious knock on at the end.
Even with his poor performance we would have won had we controlled the ball better.
I'm disappointed with the result but not too unhappy because we are much better than we were a few weeks ago.

| Thought we were the better team for most of the game and didn't really deserve to lose. saints first try came in a move with 3 kicks which we should have defended better and their 2nd came from a kick to the corner which michaels didn't even contest and his centre didn't give him any protection for. Other than that saints didn't look like scoring all night.
We, on the other hand were really disappointing with our ball control and our last tackle plays were garbage most of the game but we still created plenty of opportunities and I think had naughton stayed on we'd probably have taken some of them. Their 2nd try also came in the set following talanoa dropping the ball when we had a 2 man overlap and could well have scored.
Not sure what the thinking was behind leaving sa in the 2nd row and playing whiting at centre/wing but sa was knackered and needed a breather.
ref was shocking and saints played him to perfection whilst we didn't. We are disappointingly dumb at times. That's now 5 home games we've lost which isn't good enough IMO. Win 2 or 3 of those and we probably finish in the 8 but now looking unlikely IMO

Cant agree with this, yes we made mistakes but in general the team knuckled down to recover from them, Saints first try was fortunate, their second brilliant. We were good defensively and played some decent stuff, hopefully if we keep this mindset up more will start to stick.
We didn't get any fifty/fifty decisions and no luck. I thought in the last 15 minutes that we would come back to at least to draw it. Credit Saints, they rode their luck and hung in.

| Think the ref letting Saints slow the play the ball down, and so letting their defence get set, stifled Hull. Our lack of pace showed tonight and think that it is imperative that we get a couple of pacy backs.Don't know if Lancaster is fit or not but he certainly has pace.Losing Naughton certainly had a detrimental effect on our back line.

Even you can see there will be no timely boosts next week. FCs to lose next week.

Funny how people see differently. I saw it massively different.
Our passing at time was hot. How many times you ever seen us go to the wing and go 40 metres from behind our own tryline from a kick off. Mad stuff that the hudds game was only weeks ago.Angles were ran n Ellis was man of the match for me. Mini was ace 2nd. Quiet 1st. Ellis monster ed everything. He was the only 1 who knocked walmsley about. He was shook up a few times by Ellis. Ellis went off with 2 left. Just the effects of last week's dead leg it looked like.
Need some more follow up to watts.
We played some sharp stuff tonight at times but have to credit saints. They defended brilliant. We still need more improvement but we'd of had enough for most barring the big boys. Even though our own errors killed us. but I've also got to say. That's 1 of the worst refs I've seen. He destroyed that game. Radford was bang on in his interview.

Ellis was a beast tonight, dished out some great shots.

| I was back tonight, and glad I did. Sloppy 10-15 minutes apart, we tried to play rugby and provide the kind of game I want to go and watch. Too many errors, yes, but I'd sooner see us try and fail than plod along playing safety-first basics. First time I've come away feeling pretty positive in a long time. More of that, please.
Much better, and if anything Saints pulled off a bit of a smash and grab.
