rankin did state in the HDM early in the season,that he could kick,but he didn`t want to step on anybodies toes,as he hadn`t been with the squad that long.

Whilst Roopy on the Rovers forum knows his stuff about Newcastle he knows very little about SL and is very disrespectful to our league, when any NRL player is linked with Rovers he always says they will make good SL, history had shown this isn't always the case.



He also claims that he will have signed fir very low money just enough to cover his expenses, if he thinks he has left Aus on a 3 year deal on anything less than good money he is very naive.



He might turn out a good signing, but you have to to ask why only 2 games and why another club hasn't picked him up. 3 years is a very big risk, comparisons with players like Dobson are silly he was only 19 when he first came over,



I would be massively disappointed if we had signed him especially on a long term deal.

Were you disgusted when hull gave miller a 2 and a half year contract after 9 games in 3 years,dropped to wests 3rd team and on a big money contract ? Or what about rankin 17 games in 5 years at gold coast and 1 try,hardly a great record either but I think he is a good signing for you. Mantellato in 2 1st grade games 1 try 6 goals, for italy 7 games 5 trys 36 goals.Not on big money so worth a chance,and I would much rather take notice of roopys opinion who lives in newcastle and watches him play than yours,who like me has never seen him play.

You've no idea what he's being paid. Just admit it, this is at best a big gamble by Rovers and at worst all that is wrong with SL recruitment.

All signings of 2nd or 3rd grade aussies are a gamble,rankin and miller 2 good examples.
