no it wasn't the Bulls full squad. Ferguson, Diskin and Kearney + one or two others were all missing. They were also playing two loan youngsters from Wire. This is a team that has been in turmoil and players told they could leave. Hull should have done better and have probably gained nothing from today.

We should have done better without a doubt, but strange comment about us gaining nothing. We would gain nothing from thumping a championship side 80-0. But this was a good tough game that we will probably learn quite a lot from.

There is a substitute for match sharpness, it's called a warm weather pre season camp to give you a 5 week advantage and having a better pack than either a Wigan or Warrington. Coupled with the appetite Sandercock will have to set the right tone this year having been bested by a Gentle for 2 seasons, both of those trump a 30 minute canter out at Odsal for some of our first team squad. Wasn't full strength FC either,what we gained was players having a run out and gaining a bit of match fitness and sharpness,our younger players will have gained massively from this so it's all a bonus as the score is irrelevant.

Horney is more of a runner & good support play,Rankin is going to need to be the play maker with a very good kicking game if that HB combo is to work otherwise we will be very poor in attack. Imo.

next weeks only another friendly, some of your guys will have played 3 times and some of ours once, results aren't the end of the world because its just about the fitness and trying new moves out isnt it.

Not me shouting the odds, cockle, it's your board and management team. If it's "your year", and you're 5 weeks ahead of us preparation wise, and have the best forwards the competition can offer, you'll be hitting the ground not just running, but steamrollering. And we've hardly pulled up trees so far. Scary.
