HULL KINGSTON ROVERS is my religion, Craven Park is my church and Jordan Abdull is my God: |

Two props coming in, one SL based and one overseas is the talk.'"
I think you have gone cold on the idea of signing him as well

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

I know, I was just saying he is a good player, and would be a better signing than walker from cas imo

| I don't think Walker and Thompson will propel Hull FC into the top 4 !
Adam has to start competing in the cash flashing stakes with Salford's Chairman.
We need some aggression . Not more average lightweight and so called mobile forwards.
Players are needed that other teams will fear.
Push the boat out Adam , splash the cash . Saturday's debacle is testament to that.

The only ones that are available are probably what you would class as average. The latest Salford signing a crock from NZ is hardly something to write home about. Flashing the cash is not a receipe for success.
Adam is delivering what our coaches want. Its up to them to gel the squad and build for success. As has been said before Watts, Pitts, Green, Westy are all a year older, wiser and more experienced. We have to be patient with them. I will be expecting them to start to deliver next year. Some forget they are not as green as they make out.
I am concerned about losing Ogre and Lynch and do genuinely feel we need some major grunt and and a hard player, which we will be lacking without Ogre. But I don't see that type of player in SL who would be available with or without cash.

It doesn't matter what the accounting period is. Management comments in a set of accounts have to up to date as at the date the accounts were signed.
Mrs B says the a/cs were filed last week. What's strictly more relevant is the date the a/cs were signed (which is sometimes different from the filing date, as some co's sign the a/cs early and wait for the statutory deadline before filing them. So, in theory, there could be a few months' gap between the date of signing and the date of filing).

Does anybody take any notice of these? Genuine question - because I'm imagining them as vague and platitudinous. 'Striving to offer best value, while building further on existing synergies...' and similar.

Companies House, HMRC and the Institute of Directors would take notice of those comments should the company go under

Fair point, but it depends on the company. You can comply with the relevant rules and still not really give very much away. Some companies take that approach. I'd expect most RL clubs (given that they're effectively closed companies - i.e. their shares aren't generally traded) to adopt that approach, albeit that Mrs B seems to have seen the HKR a/cs and has quoted something from them which appears to say that they're committing to cost savings.
Other companies (generally those whose shares are more widely traded) think that good investor relations involves open communication, and so they discuss future plans and strategy more openly.

"These accounts are prepared on a going concern basis. The Directors believe this to be appropriate following ongoing cost-cutting measures which have taken place since the year end together with the continued support of the company's bankers and directors". Dated August 9th. Although clearly as Hullandproud referenced that must have been before the financial shackles were completely removed by the 2 new sugar daddies, £2.9m of net liabilities and all.

Not all just spin, bluster and impenetrable Managementese, then?
Shame - I was hoping to hear about some Smailesian rhetoric regarding Hull FC remain remaining 'relaxed and confident' despite their losses last year.
