| Quote: weaver93 "This sums up ,one of our major failings in a nutshell.
We dont need quality players,to get a quicker play the ball, Gentle told the team at HT against Wakefield to play the ball quicker.
Any coach, would identify our weaknesses, and try to improve this PTB issue, and perfect it through practice.
Are the players responsive to Gentle's instructions? this is the biggest issue.'"
Our players are far too lazy to get up off the floor. Only O'Meley, Linham and Tickle i can actually remember trying to get up quickly. Briscoe fannies about getting tangled up to win penalties, Watts gets turned on his back far too easily and Lynch is like an old man with a slipped disc

Ellis always fights to get on his feet for a quick ptb.

| It does not matter how we think he is doing the stats prove things are not right at FC. We lose at Cats and thats season end in reality and another season fades into the past on a sour note. Season pass sales will fall liek a stone next season the newby fans we have picked up since we moved to the KC will continue to drift away.
I always stated this season was make or break for FC and Adam is going to have to pull something massive off, player wise to come even close to the dissapointment factor now rising yet again on the terraces.
Gentle has already admitted there is a problem behind the scenes and for that admission alone I think he has lost some of the players confidence.
Perhaps its an Aussie v Brit faction................

More on the coaching/management side than the players I'm led to believe.

I doubt the club are in a position to do this due to player availability or salary cap, IF Gentle is still in post pre-season,
How will the club sell its season passes to remain,at previous season sales?
Its a massive 6 weeks ahead for Peter Gentle's future at Hull FC, Pearson said he wouldnt accept mediocrity.

If true haven't we been here before with the old player power issue raising its ugly head. No matter what you think of Gentle and his ability, when a club appoints a manager they are the only thing that matters when deciding how to play and how to manage. If the players have an issue I would rather they toe the line and have respect for seniority and put a shift in during training and games. These issues always resolve themselves any way, it would be ridiculous to not expect Adam Pearson to have an understanding of issues going on, and when the time is right he will take the appropriate action.

I think he's hinting at a McRae/Gentle issue, rather than 'player power'.

If this is the case it shouldn't be effecting the players, it is a Gentle / McRae issue. By letting it effect them they are indirectly displaying player power. Does this mean they prefer McRae to Gentle as the way they are going they will get Gentle the sack. That's not exactly backing a manager they believe in.

Wouldn't disagree.
Players are employees and should get on with what their paid to do.
Maybe too many chiefs are spoiling the broth, don't know?
One things for sure, a winning team makes a happier club.
I don't wanna see PG go, continuity is always preferable and more rewarding than chopping and changing but we've got to start improving on the island (EXPRO ) or things will only deteriorate.

Agree, I don't want to see Gentle go as I can see potential in him. A lot of people were quick to put the improvement on the return of Ellis and Andy Hay going. But has Gentle taken on to much, does he need more experience or an assistant to bounce ideas off. Have the players lost a middle man they could discuss issues with when Hay went.

I dunno, as I'm not making any claims that there is a problem. If there was though, it would be a little simplistic to say it couldn't/shouldn't affect the players.

Agree about it being simplistic, lots of different issues affect people differently in a work environment. However, this isn't the first time we have been here. It's the teams we get beat by and the way we play in certain games that suggests to me a less than professional attitude within the club. Regardless of what has been done recently to weed out these issues.

| We're nearly two years into Gentles tenure and yet the same failings are still there. As i said yesyerday this job is too big for Gentle and its time somebody realised that and employed a man with experience who can cope with the pressure and control the players as well as someone who demands respect. Who this is i dont know but it isnt Gentle im afraid to say
