Agree with that. Doesn't sound like a lack of effort at all. We just weren't able to turn things in our favour at any point and made too many errors.

Which is exactly what Gentle wanted to reduce. He's getting there, I think this week off has come at just the right time.

Didn't sound a very good game, too many errors & Catalans punished us for them. I reckon just about anybody would of took 9 wins out of the last 11 games before the season started. Have a week off now & focus on putting things right against Cas.

Hope you're right but they are a bloody tough proposition on their own patch.

Ah well. Even the best teams lose once in a while. Look at Leeds for example.

This game doesnt define our season.

We need to pick our selves up, we've just beaten some big sides in Leeds and Warrington. We have the team to compete with any team in this league. We didn't lose once in May and only once in April. That is a great run that we should be proud of.

Castleford next week, Wakefield after that. With all respect to them, I'm still confident of a result against both.

But Catalans sounded quite scrappy as well and with a bit more effort and concentration the score could of been closer, like I said earlier maybe it was a game to far for us and we do need the break.

That wrecking ball is banned aswell so that will rule out a major threat!

There was nothing wrong with the effort, the execution wasn't there today. You win some, you lose some.

Yeah because if I thought players didn't bother putting effort in then I wouldn't buy a pass every year but I do think players can turn up to games in the wrong frame of mind and that must have a bearing on effort and concentration, Catalans is a long trip coming on the back of a long run of good results where the effort has been excellent so like I said it was probably a game to far and we need the break, I'm not disappointed with the loss because I don't expect us to win every game and I'm not having ago at the players I was merely stating that the gulf in performance from last week is quite big that's the disappointing thing for me.

Not time to press the panic button, but a reminder that we are not the finished Top4 team some have started to think we are, and that we must work harder to be consistent.

I also think O'Meley's absence again highlighted our lack of 'big' players in the side, we struggle with this early in the season on Wet pitches and also against big packs like Catalan. I feel we need to add 2 big props, one to replace O'Meley and one as squad cover/competition for the other props.
