Never really looked at it that way, and I suppose he could have been.
Yeah that was a stupid pass. If it came off then Crooks could have been away, but I guess Lineham is no Richard Whiting!

Heremaia
were my picks today. Good hit out, nice ovation for Yeamo and a win. That'll do.

| think cas will struggle this season - millward will be under pressure if they don't get the results
good workout from FC, did enough without ever getting out of second gear.
wish the refs in these friendlies wouldnt be so quick to penalise - they should talk to the players more and for example let them know that a ruck offence would be a penalty in a superleague game whilst letting the game go on. no one wants to see penalty after penalty in a friendly

As I said, Gentle sees Holdsworth and Heremaia as his first choice halves this year.

| Quote: Sebasteeno "Having just got back lll echo the previous poster, first half only really Green and Horne showed anything, Seymour was poor but the young lads stood up well and blotted out the threat of Chase. Second half the big boys came on with Heremaia and Holdsworth in the halfs which to me could indicate how we may line up for the season and we was much better for a time then the game went a bit stale though the conditions probably dictated that. The McDonnell try was good, Ellis looked Steady as did Holdsworth but for me the standout was Westerman who i think will have a fine season and is my bet for player of the season if not FCs main chance at Man of Steel'"
Seymour went well imo, best I have seen for a while, organised well and kicked some decent balls.

| Quote: steve_norton "Just got back, we have a good indication who PG thinks his first team is.
First half tacked well against Cas first team, Whiting and Green looked good, Horney ok, Seymour poor, his passing is so wayward at times, hard to see how he played so many NRL games. Shaul quite handy too but small. Ben Crooks out of position a bit in defence.
Second half came out blazing for 15 minutes then went off the boil, picked up again towards the end.
McDonnell good going forward, made one mistake not taking high ball on the full, I was sat in a different place to usual and the bellend behind me slagged him off all half. Good runner and backed up well.
Other quick thoughts
Really?? Because IMO Seymour was a damn sight better than Holdsworth. Not criticising anyone but in terms of kicking games it was a non contest..

| I also thought seymour did well some decent kicks especially for crooks try ,think some people have made their mind up over seymour and 1 bad pass or kick then its a bad game

| i'm not sure gentle really rates seymour and think he's only still here because we didn't sign a scrum half - i too think he's looking more at heremaia for scrum half.
my own view is that we should give seymour a chance to impress now he's free of niggling injuries, he did okay today

It's the 'Sharp/Blacklock' blame policy

fair one pal, you did call it. and after seeing how it all transpired im not surprised. Heramia was one of our best player while Seymour was the least impressive. one thing not to forget is that Seymour was playing along side much less experience players. and we did score off his kick.

Not me, I would love Seymour to do well, I still have hopes for him but I didn't see anything today that illustrated he has turned things around. His kick for the try was good but most of his other kicks were poor and we already know he doesn't have much length on them. His passes always look hurried and he chucks out more than a few wayward ones, he even did one that the player had to take at head height from dummy half. Holdsworth seemed to have time on the ball and didnt seem hurried at all, his flick on to make the overlap on for Briscoe was sublime.
First game of the season and it wasn't a disaster for him but I personally hoped for more.

| According to twitter, Tickle, Kent and Johnson all carrying knocks from Tenerife so weren't risked. Whiting picked up a concussion from his clash of heads.
