| Quote: Standee "nor did saying "good luck" to an actor before a show, but you still don't do it.
I fear for the future, I really do, no respect for tradition, will you be having a Christmas tree this year, or seeing in the New Year?'"
Jesus wasnt born at Christmas it was a festival co-opted from the pagans in order for Christianity to be passed on to them more readily - so in keeping with tradition you will be celebrating the winter solstice?
I'm not arguing the case for green, just stating that people seem to take it very seriously when in fact green has been included on the Kit before via sponsorship. In actuality its a superstition that was traditionally observed because we had a large following of trawlermen, which we no longer have.
You may say that it is "respect" to continue the tradition, I say that no colours are more or less lucky.
We are both entitled to our opinion, but I really wonder if the people responsible for kit design are aware of this tradition, or if actually, green just doesnt really go very well with black and white.

I'm narrow minded for not blindly following what was done before? - I think you need to re-check your dictionary
We sing Old Faithful because it was a superstition of the trawlermen? - Thats a new one for me
I have stated several times that I dont want green I am just seeking to understand the reasons we cant have it

you carry on, the rest of us (barring a few others) know where we come from, and the sacrifices made to afford us the opportunities and freedoms we enjoy.

| OK final point because this isnt getting anywhere,
If BP (or insert another green based company) came to club asking to sponsor the away shirt, for £1,000,000, but it had to be green,
what do you think the answer would be?

it would be NO, if it was a club decision.
As I have asked before, how old are you, do you even know Hessle Road and the people who have lost family in the last 100 years?
Do you wear a poppy?

We have done this with sponsors before not long ago.
I remember when I was a kid I had a shirt with a big green sign on the front, ABI Caravans if I remember.
Looked awful, like someone had sneezed on the front of your shirt

I'm 26, I wear a poppy, I am aware of the history of Hull and respect the memories of those who have previously passed,
I just find it hard to understand why people feel so strongly about something that was little more than a superstition amongst hundreds of other superstitions they had.
The answer would not be no, the answer would be, "where do we sign?"

| So why can't Hull FC wear green? And if it is so awful why do Hull Dockers play in green?
It seems to be quite a touchy subject like.

They can, and have done back in the 90's
But it seems it is going against some old tradition, which is fair enough. Don't think it should stand in the way of any financial gains that could be made though.

Not true actually, we were sponsored by Limé in 2010 which was on the collar. It was only one letter that was green I believe, but still. Green is green.
Suprised no one has mentioned Chris Green yet

Thats the one, the Green was obviously an issue because the following year ABI was still sponsors but the logo was put onto a black background.

there was also the Chrysler logo and the Hull College logo, but the club would definitely say no if it was their choice....

Here you go on about the KIT being green. Not a logo
a green sponsors logo, as we have established is quite different.
