Quote: Mrs Barista "The thing I can't get my head around is, even if you have the inclination to cheat and the tery to lie about it, "Why bother?" FC under Agar were awful and were never going to win anything, with or without a knackered and troublesome centre. Why would two people risk their career over it?'"
It is ludicrous, and the only think I can think of is that we were hitting a relative purple patch after the near hanging, drawing and quartering of Agar that was being demanded after the atrocious start, and the board didn't want a return to having to face the sacking of Agar.
I can only assume they thought Gleeson implemental to this, rightly or wrongly. Plus I think that whole thing probably snowballed from a small lie, that Rule maybe thought he could control, then couldn't. I cannot believe that only Rule, Gleeson, Long and Cooper were aware and party to the whole thing.
It also makes a lot of the remaining vague mysteries fall sharply into place, imo.
