He reminds me more of Cooke, tbh. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not saying he's as good as Cooke at all, but he's that style of player IMO. My concern with him coming to Hull is how he'll develop, or more likely not. With Long at the club, there would be at least a decent mentor. Hopefully will spend a lot of time with James Webster.

I went to the game today. You have a great signing in Jamie Ellis.

He was brilliant today and most probably the difference between the two sides in the end.

As some of you have mentioned, his kicking game is very good (especially the grubber kicks down the right wing). He always seems to put the oposition under a lot of pressure and win's his side a lot of good field position.

Not sure whether he'll be in your plans to be in the starting 13 next season, but you have taken on a real good player there.

Very good kicking game but was not involved enough with ball in hand for me, maybe it's the way Leigh use him?

man of match for me kick halifax to death and orginisies the leigh team very well put out some really good ball and allows ridyard to play a bit wider and came up with 2 good tries aswell

I thought Leigh's number six looked better when I watched the game, was at work though so didn't have 100% of my attention on the game.

martyn ridyard is the number 6 and is very good at this level ill be suprised if he dosent get a super league contract but jamie does alot that allows ridyard to have space
