That's interesting, thought club policy was not to comment on rumours and speculation? Have they chosen to do so because they feel strongly enough about the matter in question, or is it an acknowledgement of the negativity surrounding the club in general and they now wish to try and downplay things where they can?

Or maybe it's Danny himself wanting to put this rumour to bed. I would sooner hear things like this brought out in the open than listen to some of the rumours/arguments/conspiracies on here.  |

Berrigan also came out and said he was staying for his fourth year before moving back a few months later, I know the circumstances are different and I honestly can't see Danny houghton going, but I also know not to believe everything that the club churn out.

Possibly. I'd have probably leant more towards that if it had just appeared in the HDM though. The fact that it's on the club's website I just find curious, when our chief exec has repeatedly stated that it is not their policy to comment or even give such stories the time of day. What's so different about this one?

Why ?...Berrigan went on record to say he was staying for his 4th year and within a couple of months went!
What do you expect the players to say ? if they cannot get sorted they have to stay, so it is all lip service ticking and right boxes! |

I expect them to say something near the truth.
Not
“It’s a load of rubbish really, a lot of it is to be honest and you just ignore it, but I was a bit surprised with this one.
“My future is at Hull FC, I love it here and only signed a new deal recently so fans can rest easy and be comfortable knowing I am not going anywhere soon,” commented Houghton, who is currently contracted to FC until the end of 2012.
