Radford wasn't on £100k before his new reduced deal.'"
Never said he was, but then Riley, Grix and Solomona are on nowhere near 100k either, that was my point

I never said Dowes, Tansey and houghton were near 100,000 but I don't believe the wire players I compared them to are either.
Obviously this is nowhere near an exact science but Im just trying to point out that the discrepancy isnt so vast that it has to be down to Wire cheating.'"
I dont think longy is on much more than a £100,000 as the length of the deal was more important to him rather than the money, and I get what your trying to say in regards to us paying over the odds for some average players but you must be suspicious when a club can spend a rumoured £500,000 plus on just two players with a squad of 24/25 most of which are internationals.

| Quote: garry brindley "It's shocking that you don't, is it because not all of them perform like it on the pitch?'" No, Yeaman was on no more than £75k per year on his last contract (from the horses mouth). His new deal he admits is on "a lot less" than that.
Our only players around £100k will be Long, O'Meley, Fitz, Berrigan and Horne (as you said 50% don't count anyway).
For balance, i think Wire would be stupid to be paying the likes of Carvell anything near £100k.

| I forgot all about Westerman , he's come on for a big fee so he'll be on big wages.
I assume thats the logic you're applying to Myler being a big earner at Warrington?

No its not my only logic, its the fact he was touted as the next big thing to come out of england and in a specialised position of scrum half in which england doesn't produce that many, id expect him to have had a pick of clubs (including ourselves) so i would assume he would have got a pretty decent salary.
Going back to my question do you not find it hard to understand how they fit under a £1.65 million cap with the rumours of them spending around £500,000 on just two players?

Horne is on alot of money i would estimate that he is getting approx £75k after his long service deduction.

It is just rumours though and probably exaggerated.
To be fair though and although it's complely meaningless I've just gone through that first list of players you gave and totted up what Id guess there on and come up with just under 1300000 so I do see what you're saying

Yeh as you say it is just rumours although it was reported that matt kings deal was worth 1.3 million over 4 years and we apparently offered around 200k a season for michael monaghan and was beaten to his signature, but without solid facts none of us will ever know the truth, however i just cant see how one club can pay that amount of money for 2 players and then fit the rest of their (quality) squad under the cap.

You honestly think that Sam Moa and Ewan Dowes are on similar contracts to Mick Higham and David Solomona?

No, but I think that the combined wages of Higham, Solomona, Grix, Clarke and Riley are comparable to Tansey, Radford, Houghton, Moa, and Dowes.
Extending it further you could add Wood and Harrison to the Wire list and Whiting and Washbrook to Hulls... overall tally would be around about the same

Well in absence of payslips we'll have to agree to disagree!
One of Higham or Clarke has to be considered their 3rd choice hooker, Wire effectively saved Solomona's career so can't see him being on much despite former glories, Riley's a decent young back as isTansey, Grix is much of a muchness as is Dowes....

Cap is £1.6m mate and I do know that either wire are paying players more than that or there's something about warrington that makes players want to play there for less than their market value
