| dont realy think horne matters. 50k of his wages dont count on the cap and wer not going to get any1 better for the cap wage. His loyalty earns us a 50k headstart so may aswell give him another season to bounce back and just see what happpens. If he kicks on n becomes a class act again wer laughing, if it turns out he is finished then fair enough hes had his chance. Win win if u ask me

What cash? All directors loans have been repaid. The hetheringtons don't even hold a majority shareholding. Anyway, the problem is agar, not the board so stop trying to be his shiit deflector

The board are just as responsible for the carp that the team serves up as is Agar. They employed him, gave him a contract for almost 3 seasons to prove himself, yet after almost 2 seasons of showing he wasn't good enough, they give him another 2 years on top. This tells you how much the board really care about winning things.

When did the Hetheringtons sell some shares because they were the majority shareholders when it was discussed on here last year.

I believe our relative accountant can post the shareholdings. Fairly sure she did recently and the hetheringtons weren't the biggest shareholder

My memory is hazy, but I think Kath maybe had the biggest individual shareholding, but the Weatherills had more shares combined. I could just be making that up as well.

| our squad aint to bad tbh, weve just got an average coach at best in charge( the cheap option), look at wigan i woundt say its that much better then ours on paper and theres a few teams with better squads on paper but they hired a top coach with an attacking policy wich is an exciting brand of rugby and there clinical at all aspects of there play attack and defence. players such as horne, yeamen, briscoe, tansey ect would flurish under an attacking brand of rugby. we are a big club with a top class stadium, big fan base, good youth system ect ect but we need to spend some of this money on a top class coach. then judge players wether they good enough or not. there is players that are not good enough but under a top coach majority of players would flurish.

No, you're correct, the Weatherills have 40% between them compared to Kath's 30%:
John Weatherill 211,034 26%
Pauline Weatherill 115,319 14%
Jack Coupe 107,662 13%
David Fulton 141,352 17%
Kath Heatherington 245,033 30%
Total 820,400 100%

So for a "buy-out" would they have to buy out the Weatherill's for full control Mrs B?
If thats the case then the "Hetherington out" mob will be wasting thier voices.

For a controlling share they'd need more than 50% in any combination I guess. I've absolutely no idea how the arrangement between these 5 was put together though or how committed the shareholders are or whether any/all of them would be looking to sell. The valuation of the business now though will be increased as we more or less have have got out of a net liabilities position (ie the value of our assets = the value of our liabilities, taking out the controversial player valuations), plus the club has demonstrated the ongoing profitability potential of the business by making 5 consecutive years of profit. As sporting investments of this size go, I'd guess ours is relatively low risk, but haven't heard for some time of anyone interested in buying.

More than 50% gives you a controlling interest but not control.
Anyone who holds more than 25% of the shares in a company can block a "special resolution" which is where a 75% majority is needed to implement certain changes.
For example, anyone coming in and buying both the Weatherill's shares and Kath's would still only have 70%.
Anyone buying all the shares except Kath's would have a minority shareholder who could block more than a few of their plans if she was minded to do so.
Do we want a board where no-one has total control as now or do we want a major shareholder who effectively owns the club and can do what he likes? This might be someone like Leneghan or the guy at Wire (whose name escapes me) but equally it could be another David Llloyd.
