| From an outsiders POV I think Radford will be a success as coach and think you'll do okay what intrigues me is Motu Tony and his involvement. AP says he'll be making the signings and LR will be responsible solely on coaching, That could be a recipe for disaster. LR probably has a structure in his head of the way he'll want Hull to play next year. This must coincide with the type of player that Hull signs to be able to play the way he wants.

| Quote: AirlieBird82 ""I need a leader who people naturally look up to and who can instill a little bit of discipline and fear, get some consistency into our play and make sure the team turns up every week and not when it particularly wants to. It’s very important that the leader sets that tone and I think Lee has those qualities."
I'd say in context that the use of the fear word by AP here is more about shaking things up regarding the players attitude.'"
That and the concept of fear of failure or fear of performing at a level below that which is acceptable - something which at the moment doesn't seem to be evident in a good many of our squad.

I'd assume it would work like some footie teams do it, LR would say I need an impact prop and Motu would go get one. LR would do nothing more than highlight a requirement. Reckon they'll be talking a fair bit along the way.

But that's if we go with what we've got, I'm hopeful our recruitment improves, and we see another 2/3 players come in, Paea aside.'"
With up grades to Crooks, Lineham, Shaul and others and with us signing Paea, Feka, Thompson and maybe Biggs how much do you think we've got left?
Do you honestly believe Galea was on 100k? Tickle, Briscoe, Lynch and O'meley will leave us with a little but only for some project from the WC.

Radford will still have input in the signing of players, it just means it won't be his responsibility to sort out the deals and the headache that comes with it.
It's not like he's going to turn up to training one day and there's suddenly a new player in the dressing room.

I don't think it will be as simple as Tony signing players and Radford having to work with them. There's bound to be some communication between the pair so that they're on the same page about the type of players the club wants. I think it's more likely that when it comes to the intricacies of making the actual signings (negotiations and contracts) that Tony will deal with all that and Radders won't be involved.

Which is exactly what Baxter tweeted had been inferred in the press conference. Radford will identify the type of player or the actual player required - Tony and Pearson will try and get the deal closed. I would have thought that was easily the most likely scenario but no doubt there'll be pages of uproar based on LR having no input at all.

I'm amazed that anyone has needed to point this out tbh.

Unfortunately that was almost the case with Bomber and PG. I asked PG about Thompson, he laughed and said you'd better ask bomber about that one. He saw the shock in our faces and then went on to give it the Young English, potential line.

I agree. Sometimes I feel that when they lose they just shrug it off and say "So what?" and all we get a PR pieces from the club saying they're hurting and putting more effort in at training.
