If we'd had Tony, Raynor,Berrigan, Lauaki and Manu in for Thorman, Broughton, Hodgson, Lee and Burnett, we might just have narrowed the massive 2 point gulf between the 2 sides.

You do need a couple of quality props and a quality backrower (I'm honestly not sure that Fitzgibbons still 'got it' after seeing him a few times this year).
We have won a few games this season now with one of the worst Wire backlines I can remember for a while simply because imo our forwards are top notch.
Its such a forward dominated game, a very good pack should take you a long way..having said that, look at Bradford..
