Quote Kosh="Kosh"I agree that we shouldn't be looking to sack Agar, but I'm not sure it's too early to say that he isn't up to the job. He's had the tail end of last season plus the longest and least interrupted pre-season in years to get the fundamentals right, and he has clearly failed to do so.
The root cause may well be the players, but Agar seems to have demonstrated that he can't deal with the issue.'"
There were promising signs earlier in the season. They all looked fitter and sharper than last year. We seemed to be playing as a team. The attack was lacking in ideas, we still scored some decent tries. I thought the ideas would come as they gelled a bit more.
Then it all seemed to go suddenly very wrong. We now have a bunch of disinterested looking players doing very little to warrant their salaries.
Ok, there have been some baffling team selections, and the rotation policy seems to lack any sort of sense, but I don't think this alone is responsible for our abject showing the past few weeks. If there is a problem with certain players' attitudes, then you could argue that Agar should sort it out. But to do this, he'd need backing from above. Backing that we know wasn't offered to Kear when he was in a similar position.
