I'm not sure exactly what you think those stats prove. Colbon makes more metres than Calderwood is about all.
Calderwood has made more tackles despite fewer appearances, and has scored only two tries fewer than Colbon despite fewer appearances and playing in a team that finished 12th in SL.
If you want to use stats to judge a player - which is a silly way of judging a player's overall ability anyway - these are far from clear cut.

Alot more meters and more tackle busts.
Its just that you read so much into how enthusiastic Calderwood is, yet according to the stats he hardly takes a ball in. Is it just that he threatens to look enthusiastic?
And yes, I know stats dont tell the full story. |

No, they don't. So it's a little ridiculous to try to use them to prove one player is better than another. Calderwood is slightly built, hence he makes fewer metres. So, if you have a winger who you know isn't designed for getting good metres from a hit up, it would be a little bit silly to expect that winger to take a load of hit ups, wouldn't it? |

As Brian Mcdermott said on Boots n All last season.. "Stats are for geeks who dont play rugby, getting dirty and working hard for your team wether you miss a tackle or not is what a team needs, everyone makes mistakes and thats when your team ethic jumps in to have the will to cover that yardage to cover that mistake"
