Played well last night and looked a threat running the ball back. Him and and Lineham both looked dangerous.

The people who say that it isn't worth paying decent money to keep him I hope were proved wrong last night, looked very dangerous and has that X factor we need

Yup. I notice that the "he's not interested, get rid now" brigade haven't put in an appearance this week.

Be nice to see him get some decent ball, mind. Lineham too for that matter.

lets be fair, briscoe is a good player, not exceptionasl, and in my eyes can be replaced..... to offer a winger top wedge is baffling considering you can get good quality from players without as good a CV as briscoe...
ben cockayne, justin carney are 2 that simply roll off the tongue, chris riley, ian thornley, ashley gibso, jodie broughton?? all cheaper and not a international cap between them... but they can score try's and are good qlality wingers........ what im saying is, weve had our fingers burnt before with wingers on top whack ala blacklock and sing, although im not doubting there qualitys, our money would be better served spent elsewhere IMO......

Briscoe is absolute quality, the only player in our squad who can create something from nothing. He deserves better service.

If he stays I'd be delighted.
If he goes to the NRL, I'd wish him all the best.
If he goes to Leeds, Warrington or Wigan I'd understand.
If he goes to another SL club I'd be pretty disappointed.

Carney?? Made 2 runs against us then was fooked! Cockayne can finish but that's about it. Tom can finish, produce something from nothing, good defence. We need to aspire to be better than the teams that those players you mentioned play for, to be top 4 we need top players and Tom is one of those! Can you imagine Warrington saying that they would lose Monaghan because they could get cockayne to 'do a job'?

People who question briscoe's ability or his worth to the team/club know absolutely nothing about the game

I dont question his ability but to me he seems criminally underused. He needs to be involved in everything as he has the ability.

This not 'spending to much on a winger' line is rubbish. X factor match winning players very a very rare commodity no matter where they play!

Glad someone has said this and its not just me thinking it.

Do you think Wigan (or Widnes) fans would have said "Offiah is just a winger, lets not pay hima decent wedge"?

Before someone asked if I am comparing Briscoe and Offiah, no I am not. Offiah played in a full time trained team at Wigan against the rest of a part time league. Offiah has blistering pace, no defence to speak of and wasn't able to break a tackle.

Briscoe is not as fast os Offiah (I doubt we will see many who are) but he can produce something from nothing and his defence is no where near the poor standard soem would like to let on.

Some Question Briscoe under the bomb, well I hope last night put pay to those myths.

Imagine if we had Briscoe and Lineham as our first choice wingers for the next 10 seasons! They would probably both break Clive Sullivans try scoring record.

Briscoe will be an NRL player (from what I have been told) next season, unless there is a huge change of heart or circumstances. In amm honesty, I wouldn't blame him for going.

We need to use him (and lineham) more id like us to use a move with one running from dummy half and the other backing up for the pass or offload.

How do you know they would be cheaper. For starters you would have to offer them an incentive to come to Hull.

How did we get our fingers burnt with Blacklock and Sing? Both Aussie test players. Is it their fault they played under coaches they didn't utilise expansive play? Neither Blacklock or Sng really let the team down yet both were scapegoats for those not willing to see the lack of effort being put in ona regular basis by established team members.

Regarding Briscoe, in the modern game, I think he is an exceptional player. Pace, Power, Strength, can finsih, comes looking for the ball, and not bad at defending. What more do you want out of a winger?

cockayne would still score trys for wire....... miles cheaper than monoghan too.. all im saying is, with good ball ie from good halves, anyone can score tries.... ade gardner did it for years off the back of a good centre!! we need more than a top winger, we need a top 7 to feed a winger for a start, get a good 7 in, and even rob danby could get you 10-15 a season
