Keyboard warrior? Who's that then.
Well based on last season Agar achieved his goal, so imo wanting him sacked aftre losing the first two games of the following season could also be considered pathetic. Yers he has the season before where he underperformed but he had 'his team' suppposedly last season and he competed for 4th all season. After 8-10 games we could be sat in 4-6th place quite easily.
That's not to say I want him to stay because I think ultimately he needs replacing if we are to progress but if I were Agar I would absolutely argue that last seasons placing bought me 8-10 games ino the following season.'"
I was definitely not trying to imply you where a keyboard warrior, apologise if it came across like that, but you know as well as me they exist on here
I always wanted Agar to succeed and have defended him on here, because if he did succeed so did my team, sadly I do not believe he has achieved to reach any goal. We have only won 3 out of the last 10 games, Quins, Crusaders and Dobbins which were both basically won in the dying minutes. His win ratio is shocking, his interchanges are even worse, this season we have had over 60 points shipped past us, the rugby so far this season has gone backwards. Sitting 4th or 6th last season won us nothing, we did not even compete in the play-off game, yet you still believe he should get another 8-10 games I totally respect your decision as I do Hullbugs for wearing his shirt, however I know which one I consider pathetic.

So, hes crap but we should keep him?
Makes no sense at all.

I think BB was talking about a certain other user who has called me a keyboard warrior a fair few times over the last few months.
What i do find pathetic is the amount of people who are now calling for Agar to go, the majority of these people will also be saying he is doing okay if we grab close wins in our next 2 games. I much rather a person is in one camp or the other or they just sit on the fence rather than switching from one to the other depending on that weeks result.

Cheers, yes that does seem strange, maybe the FC spin & censorship machine has far more reach than we ever realised!

I think the point Paul's been trying to make is that although in his opinion Agar is not the man to take us to where we want to be, if he achieved the target his employers set him last season that should buy him some leeway to see if he can turn things around this season.
I can understand the point without agreeing with it personally.

I'm not sure where you get this from? The vast majority of people who are newly expressing the opinion that Agar should go were previously of the 'wait and see' camp and have been tipped over the edge by the visible lack of progress in addressing key issues over the closed season. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me.
It's also entirely possible that people may have been against Agar in private and have only just been moved to express that opinion in public.

Ah, right. Mind you, if a coach is to blame when we lose isn't it fair that he also gets credit when we win?

we never won the games that mattered though did we? Peter Sharp played 5 won 4 v leeds, including 2 at Headingley. Richard Agar played 8 lost 8 v Leeds. After getting stuffed at Headingley in the league we had them in the cup the following week. where was the game plan to neutralise what happened the week before? Lost last 2 games against Rovers, even after being 14-0 up, and then has the temerity to say I've studied the videos of rovers set moves etc, but when push came to shove, where was the defensive structure to combat there so called set moves etc? Absolutely nowhere is where. any decent rugby follower can assemble a side to theoretically challenge for the title, a good coach will create a team with attacking and defensives structures that can be easily be followed even when personnel are injured. show me where Richard Agar has achieved anything like that?

Never said we did, i have been against Agar for a long time so no need to try and convince me.
Like I said last season we had 3 must win games, Leeds cup, Leeds last game at home and Rovers in play-offs. We lost all 3. The season before we only had 1 must win game, Salford in the cup and we also lost to them.
To be fair to Agar though we have not lost a must win game yet this season

Part of these 10 games go into last season, a season where we finished 6th, so we must have won plenty of games prior to this run!
The FACTS are he was given last season to prove himself with his team and he finished 6th, narrowly missing out on 4th. On that basis he has bought himself a shot this season, the goals will be different probably top 4 and progress in the playoffs, after two games whether we win or lose that is all still more than achievable so he should rightly be given more time this season before a judgement is made.
I accept that I don't think he is the man to take us forward BUT, he achieved his goals last season so sacking him would be unfair after only 2 games.
People keep asking for Noble (incl me) - in his last season at Wigan I think they lost the first 5 matches and there were suggestions of unrest. He took them toGF eliminator where they lost to Leeds. The other year we won our first 5 and then did not win again for weeks. It's not the right thing to judge a team in the first few games.
As for the shirt, getting some cheap t-shirts printed with Agar's head on them and Agar out would work possibly with enough people wearing them. Your club shirt is supposed to be worn with pride, I don't get why someone would have Agar out on the shirt.
