I read the post, i've stood in the south stand for a derby when they were both in the lower league, it is a crap view but you can see the game. If it's a good atmosphere and a good result you don't mind a crap view in my opinion.

The key point here is we charge all away fans the same, this is Hull FC fans gripe! The view people could live with but why shoud we have to pay more than the rest of the SL for the same product?

Most Rovers fans I know are embarressed by it and just want the same charge for everyone, at that end, because they are sick and tired of the same debate each year. As for being able to see, well that guy above must either have bionic vision, be 8ft 6ins, have a periscope or be blinkered like a few others of his compatriots, because thats just wrong: The twice I have been I stood about three steps up and one step up from the front and could not see about twenty yards of the pitch because of the advertising boards. I think the whole situation was made perfectly clear by Hudge last week on Blunderside, I think he is making a concious effort to stear away from the stupid pettyiness of the past but when asked why he put the price up he stammered a bit and then said it was not his decision but the clubs (That'll be a first) he obviously knew it was embarrassing and petty! Which it is, in fact when you look at it without your red and white or black and white glases on its pretty pathetic really!

and the SMC agreement is 50% of ticket sales over 8000

so if tickets are £10, then you dont need me to tell you about maths.......

I meant break even in the context of making the same money from away fans before and after the proposed price cut.

I might be being terrifically slow here (I have a stinking head cold) but I'm genuinely puzzled by where you're going with this. If something is priced at X and then dropped to X/2, you have to sell 2X to get the same return. Feel free to point out what I've missed.

The bit I don't get is how Hudgell can say he's simply recharging us for the additional security costs.

By my calculations, this extra charge for spectators in the South Stand would pay for 238 extra stewards. I know Rovers have been found guilty of inadequate stewarding in the past, but this does seem a bit OTT.
