Sinfield,Peacock & co will be wanting to have a cracking year as they wont have many more left, I don't know what to expect from Salford they could be very good if they stay disciplined & stay injury free they have very good strike players mixed with youth & experience & 2 cracking halves Rangi could turn a game on its head at an average team so he could work wonders with his new team, just wondering if Nobby can keep them disciplined? or is it worth opening a pub near the training ground?

| I don't buy into the poor Leeds pack that i've read on here.
Leuluai
Aiton
Peacock
JJB
Delaney
Bailey
I'd imagine that will be the starting pack with Burrow, Ablett, Kirke, Ward and Clarkson fighting for a bench spot.
Thats a strong pack imo and they'll be there or there abouts again.

Agreed, and considering their set of backs they should do very well in 2014.

| 7th for fc
same as last season for top 5, between hudds and saints for top spot
1 hudds
2 saints
3 wigan
4 leeds
5 wire
6 catalan
7 fc
8 salford
9 kr
10 cas
11 widnes
12 bradford
13 wakey
14 london
sorry kr fans, dont see what all the euphoria is about your signings, i think hudge is living in dreamworld if he thinks his team can displace any of the big 5 let alone top 6!
depending on bradfords' situation, no doubt they will get looked on favourably by the rfl and somehow come out smelling of roses and escape the drop
just my opinion, no doubt some dobbins will take offence
dark horse-catalan if they can decide to turn up when travelling, not just at saints!
challenge cup-gunna go for us, after last seasons flop st wembley i reckon it will be top of Pearsons' (wish) list!
grand final-love to see hudds get there but always seem to choke at the last hurdle, so going to go for saints
biggest flop-wire/wigan-loss of key players will disrupt their campaign
although i could be wrong on everything!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I think most people agree we're one of the 'middle 4', and in mid-table there's usually very little between teams. An extra win or two can see you climb a couple of rungs on the ladder pretty easily, and I think that is the limit of our euphoria. Plus we've made some adjustments that should see us tighten up in defence. Flair is great, but that conceding 3 tries in 5 minutes thing gets old pretty quickly. There's concern about how some of the changes will go, but a new direction is always exciting at first. The no-nonsense Radford revolution seems to have been met with cautious optimism, but he's inexperienced in the role, and it could easily go either way. Catalans continuity means they're probably best placed to lead home our little group (by a nose) and get 6th, I agree.
Just as we might think, 'y'know maybe 5th isn't out the question', Widnes and Cas will be looking at play-off spot. I think Cas might handle the post-Rangi era okay - they look a bit more balanced as a squad, and Powell seems competent and efficient.
Your point about Bradford is interesting - I try not to be too paranoid or take conspiracy theories too seriously. But trust in the system remains at rock bottom. Only a fool would trust it completely IMO. My hope for the new year is the RFL moves back more to proactively running the sport, rather than trying to shape it reactively.

GF Leeds v Hudds. winner = Hudds.
CC Saints v Hull. winner = Hull voodoo over.
leeds are stronger next season and i feel they will have a good year, huddersfield i will back up a good season last season with a good one in 2014. saints will do better and i am not for one second buying into this all salford thing, they need to gel and dont have strength in depth so a few inuries to key players will see them suffer. we will go up one place i feel as we have a better squad this season.

Not sure if it's coz other fans don't like him, but Ablett will be one of the first names on the sheet. Best forward at Leeds out side of Peacock which says more about the man than the Leeds pack.

GF is a bit of a toss up as it depends who has got the fittest squads with players available at the end of the season, however I'm going to stick my neck out and say Saints with Wigan challenge cup winners.
Hudds will fall away this season, they were virtually unhindered by injuries in the critical positions last season.
I think we could well make 5th but given the quality of the halfbacks and the usual injury crisis I think 7th is probably were we are at tbh.
