Quote: UllFC "I think we have to go for a lesser-known name in the NRL. Dobson and Dureau didn't make an impact in the NRL but Rovers and Catalan have built sides around them in SL.

We just need to do the homework properly and actually give the player a medical (unlike Dykes) check they don't have personal issues (Seymour) and actually check their current form and not what they won years ago (Long) surely it can't be that hard!?'"

I agree , Were never going to compete with the NRL for there "stars" anymore but Dureau would now walk in to most if not all SL teams . Someone like Ryan Stig from the Knights .

That means nothing, he could just be talking this year.

Don't think he's coming, but don't think that quotes relevant, tbh.

A good point, but the Seymour situation stops any movement this year I reckon.

Seymour was never as bad a player as many were making out and could/should of been doing a job for us. Unfortunately the owner/coach deemed fit to critisize/drop him for every bad team performance and have almost destroyed the guys confidence.

Our problems stem, from a slow play the ball, until this is rectified, our attack will never improve.

Our kicking game is poor, due to the kicker being hurried, due to a slow play the ball. - doesn't matter who the 7 is, nothing will change.

Getting the type of half back we need is exceptionally difficult.

One not yet mentioned who I think is out of contract and may be attainable is Tim Smith.

He has some faults - especially defence - but he is genuinely creative with the ball in his hands. Some people might scoff but in terms of creativity he is probably a cut above anyone we could possibly attain.

Would be a big risk however - how well would he react to being at a club with big pressure and expectations?

Signing Jacob Miller would be nothing short of a spectacular punt. Has anyone seen him play for Wests last 2 weeks? Who knows how he will eventually turn out but surely he is nowhere near ready to be the type of player we need.

We need a Shaun Johnson type, IMO. Fast & elusive. Handbury?

It's funny how you're quick to say Brough's form will drop in the season, but then defend a player who has been, despite a few alright games, pretty average for us since he arrived.

Saw Miller play last week but he was pretty anonymous in an ordinary side.Big step up for the lad into the first team.

Handbury destroyed us the other week, admittedly against a very poor Hull side but he showed what an half decent half-back can do. A bag of tricks with good hands and kicking game. He would be great with Holdsworth IMO.
