| Excellent news, has done a great job so far and seems to have a good relationship with Agar. Has a big future as a coach and glad to have his services for next year.

Webster learnt a lot from Justine around this. Cant believe we didnt do this kind of detailed prep before Webster joined though.

Kear did it when Bomber was coach.

We arguably performed better when Bomber was coach too!

Yeah but 5 years in and we were no nearer to winning anything. I liked Bomber and he did a great job but he had some fantastic squads and could never quite deliver in the way he probably should have done.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |
|
| Webster made a name for himself as a coach in the period between Harvey Howard (I think!) and Justin Morgan at Rovers.
Think he won 7 out of 8 or similar.

But performances were better to watch. Its that same old arguement of performance vs results and i've always been a fan of performances over results as results generally then come.
Listening to Humberside last night it was interesting to hear Pete Smurthwaite (sp) talk about rather seeing a 20-18 defeat when we play excellent rugby rather than the 18-16 win on Friday. I lean more towards his view.

agree 100%, win every week but play ugly is more acceptable.
of course, the ideal is champagne rugby and winning, but when have FC ever done that (in recent memory?)

nearest we came to this was when we had jason smith, barnett snr, colin best, briscoe and horne in great form (stuffed salford and widnes at home). sadly injuries and form loss that year (2003? - black v shirt year) meant we again never delivered on the early promise, but we played some great stuff that season

So would i at this stage of the season, however, if our performances had been fantastic from the start of the season and we lost a few games i'd be happier than performing as we have and we've still lost a few games. We'd be in with a better chance of winning things now imo if we'd played better rugby through the season.

think it was 2004 when we stuffed widnes and salford, i agree that was a team that played some nice stuff but faded badly and lost the elimination game at home to wakey, peaked to early that year but it was good to watch when we were firing
