The key word is "trial". There is nothing to suggest he'd be thrown into the first team squad.

Besides, good luck to the lad. I don't think I could pick him out of a line up but I've been impressed generally with the USA teams playing style. Hope he manages to impress.

Back to Welch......... Hes not costing us a penny so far and will be working hard to get himself a contract. But if you look at signing a big name player who costs a fortune does not suite our style of play or struts about like they own the place decide SL is not for them we get left with a massive wage to pay off & left with yet another player to come in. We really have more to gain on this one then to lose. imho.
