Quote: east hull FC fan "Agar's here for the foreseeable future, whether we like it or not. So let's get into what we would like to see improve on Friday and the coming weeks.

For meDefensive line speed. As has been discussed we're pants defending out wide so this needs to drastically improve for us to try and keep teams down the middle as much as possible.

Basics. The amount of unforced errors is worrying, even more so the people who are committing them, Whiting, Fitz, Houghton & Tickle.

Positional.Would like to see Fitz moved up to the front row and Westerman at 13 with Lauaki, Manu and Tickle in the 2nd row (This can also be done by Fitz and Lauaki swapping but I would prefer to see Lauaki running out wide).
I'd like to see our 2nd rowers running out wide more also.

The "Wrestle"We're losing the floor too easily for my liking, allowing teams to run over the top of us and make easy metres. Considering we're playing the best in the business at it next week we need to improve a lot.

Kicking It's shocking at the minute, would like to see Whiting utilised more for field position, Westerman kicking penalties into touch and now Horne is back, his short kicking game is good enough imo.

All things i think are easily rectified and only 1 or 2 needing the coaches input, fortunately.

spot on on everything there icon_biggrin.gif

I'd also stop using interchanges. Waste of time. Back in the 50's they never even had substitutions and players spent 80 hours a week down the pit. This lot are soft and should all be doing 80 minutes a week and then we can get rid of that moa bloke altogether

Speed at the PTB needs improving as well, get the defenses on the back foot.

The bench is shocking, should of been first on the list tbh. Only using 3 is not the norm but other coaches have done the same. Moa needs more game time and the 2nd rowers better rotated.

Kind of covered that in the "wrestle" bit, meant for both attack and defense, you're right though.

Got to agry but why we don't just kick ball dead from our own half annoys me at least they all have to go back and play the ball from the 20 while we are prepared for it .
Saying this as see only way to put telling kicks in.

Supporting the ball-carrier. And I think Houghton's long kicking game could also be used more. Done a few 40/20s IIRC.

More push to attract and fix defenders and give the ball players more options.

I'd of hoped that was covered in the basica!
I'd agree with that, think we also need to use players in their correct position, use the pivots more in attack to give more optioins going forwards, better rotation of the bench! icon_biggrin.gif

The sad thing is most supporters can see these glaring problems, so surely Agar can as well. The same problems we have had for a long time yet we see nothing happening to rectify them.

Agree with all of the comments on here (especially Jakes icon_wink.gif )

I'd also add that when we have the gameplan, wait till the coaches have left the dressing room before the game, then rip it up, flush it down the loo and go and play off the cuff, instinctive rugby.

Everything here is spot on, especially the positional side as Westerman is waste as a 2nd row.

We need to run a second phase more than anything IMO, Although this would probably come under the basics
