Briscoe is one of the best players to have played for us and will be a full England player. He's moved on to better things at Leeds. Arrogant, jealous posters like Standee make us look petty.

I for one was well p*ssed off when McRae withdrew his contract offer
`to strengthen other areas' (IIRC.)
Surprised Pearson sanctioned it, if that was really what happened.
Briscoe was rarely injured & $/min game time, was probably one of the best
value for money players at the club.

The truth probably won't be known for a while but I believe Briscoe was offered a contract by Leeds early doors and he sat on the knowledge of that. He prevaricated over his contract offer from FC until everyone's patience snapped. If this is the case, he should have made the situation known to FC. I believe he was concerned about a backlash from the fans and AP considering what happened and was said in the aftermath of Leeds dealings with his brother. Not quite a Judas but there are similarities. Just my thoughts. I for one was never happy about his choice to go to Leeds and felt let down by his actions, FC made him a very generous offer and I think he chose them over us for a lesser contract.
