| Questions are starting to be asked wether Gentle is the right man for Hull FC?!
I know he isn't the one dropping the ball or making the high shots, but he is the one picking the team.
This is his team now, he decided to get Arundle, Crookes, Galea, Johnson... Everyone, in my opinion is Average. Not good enough for what we want and should be aiming for, a Top 4 team.
We have a big issue with our forwards, they get dominated most weeks. Bring back the Watts and Lynch of 2012. Is it Gentles decision to have them lighter as a more mobile pack? They are not breaking through any defences and offloading like a top team does.
Gentle has now got a 50% win record... Not great is it?!
The wins over Leeds and Warrington were awesome but they papered over the cracks that in general we have played poorly all year.

| We need some big forwards and quickly. Paea is the right type of forward but we need more. We're not dominant enough up front to set enough of a platform and we're getting more and more nervous and confidence-free as a result. Some of our players don't have the mental toughness and dedication to be top level either be that on the pitch or off it. In your list Arundel and Crookes have barely played so I wouldn't know if they're good enough or not.

| His HT teamtalk last night should have been easy.
Shaul wants your place, Crookes wants your place, Arundel wants your place, Cunningham wants your place, Green/Pitts/Bowden/Whiting/Hadley all want your places. Perform or they will get them.
People like Watts/Westerman/Galea (although better last night)/Yeaman/Briscoe/Heremaia (poor last night) - they need to shape up or 5hit out

Yes and he should have gave them both another opportunity at the KC last night in my opinion.

I 'picked' Arundel in my team last week and saw no reason whatsoever to bring Yeaman back in. Plenty on here have written them both off after a handful of appearances between them - they may ultimately prove not to be the standard required but deserve a run in the team. Yeaman and Briscoe were shocking as a pairing last night.

| I'd say Gentle is doing very well at some things, but not so well at others. I think he's done exceptionally well with bringing through the young players after years of stagnation in this area. His signings have been a bit of a mixed bag. Few would argue that the captures of the likes of Ellis and Holdsworth have been positive, but the likes of Galea, Crookes and Arundel have yet to prove their worth (though the latter two still might). Where he really seems to struggle is with getting the players performing consistently well as a group over a period of more than a couple of weeks. This needs addressing before it overshadows his other achievements.

Erosion of confidence will be the end result.
Keep dropping them and then expect them to come back in full of confidence is a tough ask for a couple of kids.
Seymour being dropped after our opening game this season anyone?

| Serious question, how long before AP and the majority of fans call for his head?
If we get beat by Catalan in a fortnight and knocked out of the cup?
What about if either we don't make the play offs or get knocked out in the first round?
What about if we keep getting a flukey win now and again but the majority of the games we are poor?
The Cup game vs Crusaders sticks in my mind, we won by a big margin but for the most of the game we played poorly as a team.
Maybe it is the egos of the players and they can't play well as a team?! Whatever it is it is Gentles job to address it and I hope he does sooner rather than later.

| Gets next season for mine even if we get knocked out of CC and lose first play-off game.T
I'd sack him if we don't make the 8.

Dunno about the fans, but I expect AP will assess our overall success at the end of the season, before sitting down with Gentle to discuss where it all went wrong/right. I don't suppose he'll even consider Gentle's position before then unless things continue to deteriorate at the rate they have over the past few weeks.

Agree with this. I like Gentle but his insistence on picking Galea ahead of far more deserving players (despite playing quite well last night) is starting to smack of favouritism and is doing him no favours whatsoever.

I'd be bitterly disappointed with anything less than 6th. I'd be a little disappointed with 6th unless we managed to win more than one play off game, but anything less than that has to be considered a failure.
