| Just watching a bit of 100 greatest gifts with jonathon ross and it got me thinking of old toys and games I use to get . It must be great to be a kid nowadays with ipads , tablets , ps3 ,xbox etc etc etc but what were you most enjoyable games/toys growing up ?
I loved buckaroo , operation , sling shot
My friend had test match cricket that was brilliant and we hammered it all the time .
But even to this day I think monopolly is my favourite

| Spirograph blew my mind, would spend half hours being real slow and methodical and then ferk me the wheel would jump a tooth and screw it up big time, recal playing with a car game a bit like a scalextric in its style but really slow, maybe someone will remember its name , the deal with it was that the road way had a spring inside of it that a motor dragged round and the Lesney cars, used to have to have a stick on tiny peg underneath to place into the groove/ spring thing, was cool at the time but prehistoric by todays standards...
but the daddy was Mecanno in my opinion, many a modern engineer / mechanic started their love affair with spanners by getting a mecanno set, closely followed by Triang train sets which i must add that i still have boxes and boxes of carefully packed away in the attic , keep saying its for a retirement plan but doubt i would ever sell it all too many memories

| My 3 all time favorites as a kid were when I got Ker-Plunk and then a few years later T.C.R which made scalextric look and play pants and as I got older Meccano.
I still have all my old Hornby 00 trains and track boxed in the loft can't pair to part with it yet.

DONT!! my mum had dads complete set valued when he died as his layout was huge in a spare bedroom with some 60 plus locos plus all the other stuff, its worth a fortune mate!!! some shocked me at what the individual stuff was worth dont sell it let it gather value quietly but definately in your loft!!
Then retire to Florida on it in 10 years LOL

I'm only 41, all my mates had Scalextric but i saw an ad on TV for TCR and was hooked, loved it and was gutted when my mum chucked it out years later. Tried finding one a few years ago saw a couple on ebay stateside for around £250-£300.
Have all the track and controls in boxes for my Hornby 00's as my Grandad made a huge layouts on 3 x 6x4' boards which locked together but eventually had no room for anything else and interests in other things so took it all apart and boxed it up.
