| Is anybody on here having trouble in the last few days?
Since Saturday my connection has been dipping in and out during peak times, and pretty slow fairly often too. I rang support earlier and they just looked at my connection from their end, asked me if anything had been changed with the phone lines, how many sockets I had, and sent me an email with instructions to test the adsl at the NTE test socket and said to let them know how it went and they could arrange for an engineer. The email came at 8.56, and when I called back it was to find a recorded message saying they were aware of a problem and were working on it, here's a number to check on progress. Called that, another recorded message said there was currently no problem. Tech support number apparently closes at 9.
Anyway, my connection does seem to be steadier plugged into the test socket, although I have still had a couple of instances of it still not working, plus it briefly worked when plugged in the usual way, so I don't know if it's just coincidence. Anyone else having problems?
Also, if it's a problem with the wiring somewhere in the house, are there any other options than for KC to deal with it, and will they rip me off? And if it is a problem somewhere within the house, why does it appear to be fine during the day?

Been alright apart from PS3 online, and said my portal was too crap to get on! I have not tried again, as I thought it might have something to do with my 8ft tall umbrella plant smashing to the floor whilst I was at work! Will see............

| Mine has been flashing on peck time I am HU8 area.When I rang they stated there isn't any problems.

Tried swapping filters?

| My connection was ok up to a few days ago now keep having very brief disconnections and download speed down to 4mb/s for periods of time then goes back up to 8MB/s.

| Don’t know what router you have, but if it is a Netgear you can go into the settings.
In ‘Router status’, you should have a button at the bottom of the window with ‘show statistics’
You should then see ‘Noise Margin’ if it reads bellow ‘6’ then it may be that you have a filter problem.
They can lower your download speed to up the noise margin to 6 and above, and give you a steadier connection.
I tried everything including a new modem, and then I had to have an engineer down twice, and in the end they found it was a fault at the exchange. I think they said it was one of the pots, and switched me to a new one. Had no problems since and even better speeds.

The wife did a speed test at about 5 o'clock and it was 3.8, when I got home at 6ish 3 tests failed completely and the other said 0.18. Plugged into test socket and it's been over 7mbps ever since. Looks like I may have a problem with a socket or something, a guy ringing me tomorrow.

Have they released it in Hull? I tweeted them yesterday asking when they would have it up and running? I just got a link to a news article by them saying they hope to have it by the end of the year.

| Must have done. The lad at work said his 3g went rubbish yesterday and then last night 4G kicked in. Saw that test done myself as I didn't believe him.

Had he already signed up to a 4G tariff on EE? Cos I'm still on my tmobile tariff cos I don't see the point in changing if theres no 4G here yet. They haven't announced it as avaliable in Hull yet so they might be just testing it before rolling it out.
