| Hull FC head coach Peter Gentle has made two changes to his squad for Sunday’s trip to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
The in-form Will Sharp misses his first game of the season after being ruled out with a knee ligament injury picked up in Sunday’s 18-18 draw with St Helens at the KC Stadium, with his place in the squad taken by Reece Lyne.
The 19-year-old winger did his chances of a recall to the first team no harm with a brace of a tries for Lee Radford’s under-20s side last weekend having last turned out for the first team in the Challenge Cup defeat to Huddersfield Giants back in April.
Meanwhile, Jamie Ellis is preferred to Danny Nicklas in the 19-man squad in the only other change made by Gentle ahead of Sunday’s trip to West Yorkshire.
Hull FC squad: Aspinwall, Briscoe, Crooks, Ellis, Horne, Houghton, Lynch, Lyne, Manu, Moa, O’Carroll, Pitts, Russell, Seymour, Tickle, Turner, Westerman, Whiting, Yeaman

SUBS

That's how I'd go too. I'd probably start Whiting at 13, his form deserves a start. We've got to make sure that Tickle and Manu don't play 80 minutes too, there are 3 back rowers on that bench, so there isn't really much of an excuse.

| Im not over confident on this game , esp with the ex fc , kr connections but if we manage to execute our plays beter then we did v st's then we should come away with 2 pts
I hope if young reece lynne does play we all get behind him and not destroy his confidence like people did with craig hall a.k.o.w

I said the same last week, I really hope Gentle goes with that and tbf to Horne I think he will be effective from the bench, he is experienced and able to steady the ship on occasions.

| Or we could put Horne on the wing. He is an international in that position, after all.

He would do a job there, maybe not as fast as he was in but a lot better solution than Lyne...I think I will have a tear in my eye if I see Lyne come out on the wing at Wakey tbh

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |
|
| Horne
Russell
Turner
Yeaman/Crooks
Briscoe
Seymour
Ellis
Lynch
Houghton
Moa
Manu
Tickle
Aspinwall
Bench
Whiting
Westerman
O Carroll
Pitts
Ellis is on the outer so doubt this will be the team but backs look more solid to me with a flexible bench. As mentionned both Tickle and Manu need resting at some point.

| Strange how this time last year everyone was pleading for Whiting to be played on the wing instead of Sharp, how times change! The concern I've got with Lyne isn't to do with his game, but more his attitude. Against Wire in the 20's he seemed to put a lot of blame on the rest of the team, rather than taking a bit of responsibility himself. There was a few examples when he was flailing his arms up in the air after one of his team mates made a mistake or took the wrong option, but when he made a mistake himself he seemed quick to blame others. He did alright playing-wise though, not just scoring, but put a few nice balls in throughout the game. I'd start Lyne, give him a bit of confidence going into the game, and let Agar target him, just like he did Sharp at the KC. If things do go a bit pear shaped and he does start to get exposed, we have players who can fill in, but also take a bit of pressure off Lyne.
