| between Saracens and Harlequins.
Something yes, that RL could never achieve BUT, sums up perfectly why London will never accept or support a rugby league team.
Really is time RL need to accept and give up on.

| What a ridiclious comment to "give up". Hull City get more than us so should we give up? We should be seeing how the marketing behind this manages to get this crowd. Previously they sold tickets at pretty much a loss with X-factor failures signing at half time. What sort of crowds so Saracens and Quins get week in week out? Around 10,000? Well done to both clubs for managing such a big crowd with such a poor product. Lets hope one day Broncos and Skolars can achieve this. But give up? No.

Did I not see the other week that London Broncos had a huge crowd of 1300?
Give up and give the licence to a northern club like West Hull amateur RLC who could attract more of a crowd.....simples.

| The thing with Rugby Yawnion is the corporate hangers on, I reckon 70% of the crowd will be there for the champers and the Pims.

| Man Utd average about 75'000 for their homegames. I guess every RL team west of the Pennines should just give up then.

| I think you'd be lucky to get near 40k for Wigan V Saints/Warrington for a fiver (stadium permitting of course) I just don't see the widespread interest in the game even within the die hard heartlands.
We can't even fill the national stadium for the biggest day on the RL calendar with the two biggest clubs in the history of the game (& best attended in recent times)

| Hi guys. 1st off thanks for the welcome I received yesterday when I joined the forum. For my sins, I follow Yawnion as well as that was the 1st rugby I was introduced to. The crowds gathered Wembley today and Twickenham earlier in the season by Quins is the way Yawnion is attempting to compete with that game with the round ball and the great actors. The main market they target are the local schools (free /£5 tickets)to get the kids and their respective parents along to the game. They also back that up by including the local schools in their area pre and post the match in their community programme. A great deal of hard work but theyare capturing the imagination of kids and parents alike and there is no reason why the RL clubs can group together expecially on Magic weekends/ normal Derby Matches and think up a marketing plan to to get the kids and parents along.
I know a fair number of you will find Yawnion sleep inducing, however some of us love both codes and I think there is certainly more cross knowledge sharing going now between clubs of both codes than ever before.
Finally as a relatively new FC fan, I'm very pleased with the win last night, expecially in light of how many 1st choice players were out!

In Adam we have trust
In peter we have belief
In our team we have pride: |
|
| One thing I did notice was the middle tier (mainly corporate hospitality) was fuller than when we played saints in cc final. Free tickets always bring the hurays in

| I don't like Union, however I do admire the way they have continued to market their Premiership games.
We may all agree the product isn't great, however they still nearly filled Wembley and also filled Twickenham at Christmas. Some League clubs have tried the free ticket route and not even filled their stadiums, so it is still achievement.
It has normally been League leading the way with innovations, Professionalism, Video Ref, Sin Bin etc, but this is something we could borrow off Union. Wembley wouldn't work, but it may be worth perhaps Leeds/Bradford hiring out Elland Road or Saints/Wigan using Anfield.
You can say it is a cheap effort, however team sport is the ultimate brand loyalty (we'd all change our Ketchup, before we suported another rugby league club) so if you get kids young at a big club event, then some may stay forever.
