Agree.
Reduced on appeal with Tickle getting 8 matches, a £20,000 fine and a warning over his future conduct.

| As soon as I heard he had a ban, I knew it would be overturned, hardly surprising the RFL at their best.

I can never undersand the current day appeal system. As all games have access to video evidence, with Sunday's game having the benefit of Sky's additional camera angles, what actually changes in the two days between the disciplinary hearing on the Tuesday and the Appeal hearing on the Thursday.
It's not like 20-30 years ago when new evidence may have come to light. Sorry, but if you punch/knee/high tackle someone on a Sunday, then that is what is reviewed in the initial hearing and your previous conduct is taken into account. The outcome should be the outcome.
With no other factors left to review, how can an appeal be successful???

Just like Radford when he sucker punched bailey 3 or 4 times while he was on the ground holding the ball. Short memories you lot. By the way, has anyone found Radford yet after Bailey threw him over the stand for webbs try ?

Yeh im sure not even Bailey would be stupid enough to try something like that on someone as hard as Lee Radford

| He pleaded guilty as well, its a joke.......................
Quote: bumpy carrier "Player plea Guilty
Summary of CM's submissions on the Charge / evidence The Panel reviewed an incident which occurred in the 31st minute of the Match when you were in possession of the ball. In the Panel’s opinion you raised your right knee whilst moving toward the defensive line, and your right knee made contact with an opponent (Tickle). The Panel believed that raising your knee in this manner was unnecessary and had the potential to cause the defender injury. In accordance with the RFL’s On Field Sentencing Guidelines, the Panel consider that such offence is a Grade A offence (Strikes – Knee – Raising knee in tackle). If found to have committed the offence, again in accordance with the On Field Sentencing Guidelines, the normal suspension range for such offence is from a guilty no further action to a 1 match suspension. In addition the Tribunal has the power to impose such fine as it considers reasonable. I will not be requesting that Disciplinary Tribunal step outside of the Sentencing Guidelines. However the Tribunal may, in the light of any aggravating and mitigating factors they consider appropriate, impose a higher penalty. In presenting the Charge to the Tribunal, I intend to rely on a DVD recording of the Match.
Summary of Player's submissions on the Charge / evidence Brian McDermott advised that Ryan raises his knee we admit that. We recognise the way Ryan carries the ball, he is a "bumpy carrier". He runs the line and shrugs off the defenders. The consequence is that he gets the timing wrong and his knee is leading and high. When correct he raises his leg to power through the line. This is the version where he gets it wrong. We have worked in training from the previous caution and looked at it in training to make it more of an upper body shrug. The player added I realise that it was wrong and there was no intent to cause injury and know I need to sort this out in my game. Brian McDermott also added, he hopes the panel show leniency, I know we are at an important part of the season. The possibility of missing him for the game at the weekend is enough to make us take notice of this. He is an animated character and a very tough player who shows aggression. All the media around Ryan has been about who is going to knock him out. He is working on his discipline and has shown huge improvements, having had no issues over the last 14 games. Ryan is definitely a work in progress and both we and Ryan realise that.
Decision Guilty plea
Reasons for Decision
Decision On Sanction (where found to have committed Misconduct)
Summary of CM's submissions on the appropriate sanction No further submissions.
Summary of Player's submissions on the appropriate sanction No further submissions.
Aggravating Factors Previous Caution and Warning for similar offences.
Mitigating Factors
Reasons for Decision We have discussed this at length and we have decided there should be a 1 match suspension, we have taken due to the fact that in just over 12 months you have received a Caution and a Warning for the same offence. It was obvious that Tickle felt it and luckily he was able to play on. There was a serious risk to injury in this situation and we feel that a 1 match ban and a £300 is required.
Suspension 1 match
Fine £300 '"
Heaven forbid that he injures someone with this weekend using this same "method" until the work in progress has been completed.
