Its going to be a good afternoon. 12noon till 5pm at the Kingston Suite at KC. We have the likes of Johnny Whitely, Sammy Lloyd and other great FC Legends joining us. Its free entry as part of the National Heritage week. Pies and drink will be available in the Wilberforce Suite. I have been transfering videos of classic matches onto DVD's all week to be shown and there are some cracking games, trys and players icon_smile.gif

The club have donated old trophies, programmes, medals and the like along with everyday fans who have amassed impressive Hull FC memorabilia over the years including Mick Cranes Side Step with (I think) every shirt of the Super League era.

Look forward to seeing you there and remember to wear the oldest shirt you have. Up the Cream icon_smile.gif

hopefully it will be a success, we should have been allowed to put a museum and visitor centre in the Carnegie building, is it still just empty (and becoming more derelict)?

Hull White Star - I don't have every shirt form the SL era I am afraid. There were some downright abominations that I could not bring myself to spend my hard-earned cash on!!! There are certainly some 35+ shirts, with a considerable number from the early 90's onwards and a couple from the 80's just as the replica shirt business started to take off.

I think its used as Carnegie Heritage Centre now. I know they are having an exhibition this weekend too on the City of Hulls Heritage including Hull Fair iirc, but I agree, it should have been incorporated into the Stadium plans.

I will be along with a genuine shirt circa 1988/89 and also one of Knockers old shirts minus the sleeves. Not sure what happened to them but I have treasured it for years. Unfortunately the chances of me wearing them are out of the question on the grounds of health and safety. (not sure the gut will be able to be packed in) icon_confused.gif

I also have Trevor Skerretts old GB track suit top (Red and White so can't wear it) and a GB one from the 1986 Australian series which I believe may have been Garry Schofield's though I would not state that for certain. Mother might know as she got me it.

Scary thing is, that since I have slimmed down alot - I can fit into the oldest one I have (that was always too small) and all of the replica's I used to wear to games now resemble tents on me.

I am sure I have read on here that it shold be the other way round!!!

Unfortunately I can't make it because I have some things I'd loved to have taken along.

The late Tommy Harris gave me his 1985 Wembley jacket. He won Man of the Match at Wembley in 1960 but couldn't receive the award at the time because he fractured his skull and was taken to hospital straight after the match.

Tommy said that he was presented with his award at Wembley in 1985 and I have photo of him in the jacket. I have it framed up on the wall along with a Great Britain scarf and little book which the Great Britain touring team of 1957 (i think) had made.

The little printed book lists all the tourists and their nicknames given to them on the tour and the rules of the club that they formed. Unfortunately I can't remember all the details but my favourite was Vince 'Pick Your Pane' Karalius. Tom said that in an altercation with a local on the tour, Vince got so annoyed that he threatened to throw the person through a window and asked them to 'pick your pane to go through'.

Tommy was a true gentlemen and I think because I never saw him play I found it difficult to reconcile the modest man who introduced me to some greats of the game and how in reply they would always mention the injuries that he caused them. Trevor Foster would always say that of his two cauliflowers ears, Tommy caused one and his wife the other.

I am trying to find a towel from that era and somewhere a jumper emblazoned with the legend Wembley 1982 ---- Replay Elland rd.

Its having the time to find them

It was the intention of FC Voices to fund and set up a museum as part of the Boulevard project. It would have been mostly computer based but would have also had ever changing perminent exhibitions. This was not possible but they have joined with the club to promote this one off event which it is hoped will grow in the future and become an annual happening.

The event is open 12-5-00

Opening ceremony 12-15 by Johnny Whiteley

followed by a rendition of Old Faithful by Sammy Lloyd on his ukelele (Hopefully)

the full collection of club memorabillia will be on show

around 12 fans with extensive collections of Fc stuff are attending with their stuff as well as Keith Tindall, DDD and Johnny Whiteley with their own collections.

Videos of old games will be shown all day and Bill Dalton the club historian and statistician will be their with his lap top.

It is hoped that well over 20 ex players will be there too.

There will be around three shirt collections on show

The bar will be open and snacks will be served but no food or drink will be allowed into the exhibition area in the KIngston Suite because of the value of some of the collections.

All exhibitors will be responsible for the security of their own exhibits

Most importantly come in your oldest shirt or at least an old one!!!!
