| After the recent goings on over on the dark side, it did bring into focus for me what a strong club we are off the field.
Whilst many are still unconvinced about Agar (including me), you have to give credit to the B.O.D. in their support of the coach.
Even though we have had some very poor results over the last couple of years, I can't imagine any of our club officials going into the changing room to tell the players their performances are not good enough. Morgan has one average season & the knives are out from everywhere.
What I think it does do, is give a bad impression of their club to any prospective coach or players.
Contrast that to Hull signing Seymour, after Berrigan recommended the club. I'm sure Fitz will do the same whenever he returns.
Whilst we have our gripes about the club at times, at least we act with dignity, & in a professional way.

Credit to a board for keeping a coach who has taken us backwards at an alarming rate?

I'd have to agree,
People are very quick to slate the B.O.D. but seem to forget that off the field, we are one of the best performing clubs in the league,
How many clubs are financially stable? How many clubs are making profit?
These are under appreciated attributes of our club, of which we can be very proud,
Long term, sustainable success can only come from laying a stable platform at board level,
this is what we have

Hudgell going into the changing room and reprimanding the players is totally unacceptable, if I was Morgs or a player i'd have thrown him out. Unprofessional.
FFS in the grand scheme of things this year keeping Wire within 30 is a good result for them!

if you think backing a shiite coach is a sign of strength then thank fook you're not in charge or we'd be even worse. Fair play to hudgell for actually caring. I'd do exactly the same if I was throwing £1000's down the pan every month

So you'd be happy to have Hudgell in charge of your club then?. After the Mason fiasco?. Having to take money off Allam to survive?. Losing at least a quarter of a million each year?. Think it might be you with the bad judgement.
How many top class coaches will be applying for the Rovers job when the person in charge behaves like that?.
I'm not a fan of Agar (as stated), & this isn't (yet another) anti Agar thread. I'm sure you can start another one though.

No, I wouldn't want a rovers fan in charge of the club but I would like a Hull fan on our board (a real one, not a pretend ex public school one) who actually has some say in teh way we're run. I'd rather see someone like pete smurthwaite in charge than this lot

So you'd like a Hull FC equivalent of Hudgell?.
Good luck with that.

How do you think hudgell would have done with a spanking new council stadium and a support base of 14000 on average?
hudgell is a very astute business man. I don't like him but he runs a very successful legal practice
Actually, given your belief that we are doing the right thing in sticking by agar, maybe you are running our club

Did you not read my original post stating I was unconvinced by Agar?. Try again. This thread is not about Agar.
The fact you think Hudgell is an astute businessman, whilst the rugby club he presides over loses money year on year says it all (what are the accrued losses now?).
Rovers have had more support than anyone over the years (Business Rates written off, CVA, Cheap land deal to build a stadium, cheap loans, lifting of restrictive covenants, new North Stand to be built), but they are still up the creek without a paddle.
Don't let that get in the way of your tiresome agenda though.

| As a businessman I applaud them for exploiting the revenue streams and creating a successful business.
As a fan I just feel exploited

very good post, i would like the club to either get rid of Agar or possibly better demote him to assistant under a good experienced coach, i believe he has good qualities but not head coach. The BOD have frustrated me for a couple of years now for keeping Agar, but your right Morgan has done wonders over at kr and deserves some loyalty, he has shown that to them by signing his contract, when i am sure he could have moved on.Its obvious grudgell wants to be a dictator there, Cookie,Mason were they Morgans signing's ? going into the dressing room to berate/advise ex state of Origin players is embarrassing. so yes i am frustrated with our club but we do look more professional then krs board. After seeing how Morgans being treated they may struggle to entice top people there. His self promotion (Hudgell) over the last couple of years seems to have gone to his head.

It's clear you know nothing about business so there's no point in talking to you about it. Hudgell probably makes more money from his legal practice a year than you make in 10 years. He is a very astute business man. His love of rovers has cost him many hundreds of thousands of pounds. You can question the common sense in pumping money in but he's taken them from nowhere to a guaranteed SL licence. He's levereged support from wherever he can. I don't like him but I wish we had someone at our club with his passion.
Anyway, it's tiresome having a discussion with someone who doesn;t elieve we have the right coach but applauds the BOD for not sacking him
