| At last a young number 7 that is not injury prone, really looking forward to it myself.

| Good signing, we are desperate for an exeprienced halfback and we have just signed the best one available IMO.
All three signings are starting and first choice players for their clubs in the NRL, in a cliamte that makes it hard to sign overseas players 2 of the signings are good business for the club.
One more British forward to replace Fitz and will be quite happy with our squad for next year.

| Guess it's fairly safe to use this rather than the rumour thread.
Just tweeted Steve Mascord about Seymour and he replied
"good player and nice fella. Will go well. Wade McKinnon could be a sensation in Super League."

Agree that we've done very well to get on the front foot early and bring in some NRL regulars. Seymour for Long has to be a very decent exchange.
I'm not so sure that losing Fitz and Lauaki and bringing only one forward in is enough though. We've been very lucky on on the injuries front this year in the forwards. Hopefully we'll see one or more young players step up.

Laukia is no big loss, been poor since he has signed.
Would rather play one of the under 20's this season, never mind next.
Fitz is a big loss, but the form of Westerman has soften that blow, we have plenty of workhorses in the pack.
Another English forward, plus the retentions of Moa and Dowes is essential IMO.

| We've been crying out for a scrum half for years and it seems like we've finally got one. I'm a little concerned about how we're going to replace Fitz because I think he's one of those players that watching him week in week out makes you take him for granted. He will leave big boots to fill, his workrate is unbelievable.

| Never been a big Seymour fan tbh mainly as they are so many other quality halves out in the NRL. That said he is exactly what we need, a good organising scrum half with a decent kicking game and at the right age. His link up with Heremaia will also prove very useful and Seymour could have a major influence on the way we play and has bags of experience so I think we should be pleased with the recruitment so far.
McKinnon is probably the most exciting signing provided he stays fit but I am happy with all three overseas signings although would question the need for Heremaia.
O'Meley will be staying and don't think Moa is to far away from being agreed so it just means we are lacking in the pack. It's okay saying we won't miss Lauaki but we don't have youngsters that can make the impact he does from the bench. We must sign at least one prop/backrow and then maybe promote a youngster or two.

you have never been a fan of seymour, you question the need for heremaia and then tell us we should be happy, how odd and i would also like to know what impact you think lauaki makes apart from giving penalties away

For all of Lauaki's faults, of which there are many, he is a big unit that scares defenses and attracts a number of defenders, all valuable attributes which will be missed

Seymour may not be one of the top half backs in the NRL but he could well become one of the best half backs in Super League such is the difference in standard between the two competitions.
