Everyone has fingers crossed on that one. Agar wants him but can a deal be done, Cas know they have one of the the hottest properties in SL right now and even if they are prepared to deal then other clubs will be in the mix.

Saints have signed Lance Hohaia and already have Pryce. Lomax and Gaskell are decent
Leeds will probably stick with Sinfield/Mcguire/Burrow
Wigan have Leuluai & Finch
Warrington have Myler & Briers

Honestly can't see any other teams paying the transfer fee and then being able to afford his salary. We are one of the few clubs who can afford it and have enough players OOC next year to fit him under the cap.

Wigan and Wire could afford him by using their accountant, Paul Daniels or by releasing players. Saints may be planning to use Hohaia at FB, and Chase to line up in the halves with Pryce/Lomax/Gaskell. Wellens may retire... it's all speculation but I would like to think we stand as good a chance as anyone else right now

I would have thought it will be Agar's initial decision. Along the lines of ...... "Longy if you want to stay there is a 1 year contract for you - let me know soon so we can act accordingly". He probably told him this a while back and is waiting for a decision - Long was saying last year he would like another contract for next year. It's also possible that a decision has already been made but not publicised - the monitoring of Ellis would add weight to this. There is no evidence that Agar isn't making the decisions - none at all.

I really hope the club haven't already offered Long a contract for next year, it would a shocking decsion this early.

I've been in Egypt for the last week so haven't been able to keep upto date with all things FC. What are these rumours of this player Ellis from Leigh? Also what other rumours has there been going about?
