| Not to be a half full fan But some on here need to get a grip. We beat an average KR team with the team of individuals we had so we should and for the fun it gives lose against wire and home to saints and we are back in the bottom 2/3. The problem we have has not gone away but has been given yet another reprive as they did after the cas and bradford games. Unless we put back to back wins and get a run going the season will still be poor we should be in the upper part of the SL not in the position we are, so I ask all those who are getting very excited to stay calm and remember the previous poor games we have put together. I hope the same as every other that we get going but ....reality

| Inconsistency is a major part of Agars tenure. Expect us to get nuked tomorrow with the 'us was a bit tired' excuse rolled out out afterwards

Not sure anyone is getting carried away, to be honest.
It's already been pointed out that should we lose the next two it's the worst opening half of a season since 1999.

| I don't think Hull fans on here are getting carried away. I for one have always celebrated a Hull Fc win no matter who the opposition are, it just feels so much sweeter when it's 'them'
In general it seems Hull fans by default don't expect to beat many of the top teams , I think that's why it feels so good when we do. This is not an excuse by the way it's an observation.

| I've been feeling guilty for feeling underwhelmed about our derby win but it seems others feel the seem.
Rovers were the worst team we've seen at the KC this year (possibly Crusaders were worse but even they showed some attacking flair in the 2nd half,) yet we continually bombed tries and then allowed them to waltz through for easy tries despite dominating possession. The fact that we allowed them to remain within a score for most of the game was a scandal.
I doubt we'll ever meet a Rovers team on such a poor day again and this was our chance to really demolish them and claw back just a little bit of respect after our abysmal record in the last 13 derby games. The fact we had to wait so late before securing the win doesn't bode well.
We struggled to beat to beat a Bradford side demolished by lowly Salford just a week later.
Maybe the addition of Gleeson will herald a more potent side but to me, I still don't get how we cannot do the basics.
We still can't gain decent metres on a penalty kick despite having Dobson give us a free lesson on Friday on how a kick can gain 30-40 metres!

| As others have said, I don't think anyone on here is getting carried away in the slightest. In the context of another poor run of results, a pretty good win over our neighbours who've had a shocking week, was a highlight to be savoured. Most if not all are expecting normal service to be resumed at 3pm tomorrow but why not make the most of a rare victory and a very good display on Friday?

Credit to their defence more like! Their defending against Gleeson and Whiting at times was top notch,.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Absolutely some of Rovers goal line defence was top notch on Friday particulary the cross field catch from Welham, outstanding, had that been Pat Richards everyone would be singing his praises.
I dont see any Hull fans getting carried away with one win but why the need to be so negative all the time? Credit were credit is due.

I enjoyed a good game of rugby made better by the fact my team won, in style may I add...I will worry about what happens next when it happens at the minute I will enjoy the fact I saw some promising signs from the lads.
I personally believe things could start to look up

That's why I feel guilty. I guess I should be happy and by and large I'm usually one for seeing the positive but I guess the dross from 2008-2011 has finally ground me down. I was cheering like a wildman in the first half but then the inability to convert opportunities and incompetence of the ref infuriated me - how many times can one man go to the video ref for efforts that have fallen half a yard short? GET ON WITH THE GAME FFS!!!
The sight of Rover fans cheering on that racist thug scoring wound me up and I left at that point. Couldn't do with seeing us throw the game away.
Maybe I shouldn't take it so seriously, I get that, but I guess since I moved up here I've truly tuned into the anti-Rovers hatred. Blimey, I never even used to get this wound up with football derbies!

I thought Bentham used the VR sensibly TBH. None of the try attempts he referred were 'half a yard' short and bear in mind that from the viewing angle he had it would have been near impossible to see what had happened with any certainty.
Must admit that though I also had a sinking feeling that we were going to lose to a sucker-punch during the second half it never crossed my mind to leave.
