Played quite well tonight, constantly tried organising the side and was lively. He was not the reason we lost, he played far better than Horne tonight and just had no options to work with.

Im sick and tired of calling for him to actually take control of our sets. I've given up. He was virtually non-existant in the second half.

Longy played well????????? Not from where i was sitting, for what good he did he might as well have sat next to me. Spectator who was not interested for the majority of the game.

got to disagree he was very poor again tonight, he was the player brought in to lead the boys around the park and control games with his kicking game, now how many attacking or long kicks did he put in and what was the quality like?, as for leading us around the park we were awfully disorginised and looked far better with obst and horne. and for me hhis passion for playing for hull fc has to be questioned with out doubt

As much as I think Long has generally been poor in a Hull shirt, tonight included, I agree about his lack of options.

How much easier must it have been to put in a performance under the likes of Millward, Anderson, even Potter where his side played to a structure and had numerous runners and options?

Kicking game was poor but when we had the ball he was constantly organising the line, he was taking the line on and a couple of times busted the line with an inside ball but he just needed more options. For his first game back he looked okay and certainly did more than Horne.

i have to admit, he was there, just never did anything, maybe actually give him time, since only returning to the side, maybe against quins, he might do us some good icon_wink.gif

Not a nice thing to say about anyone in any circumstances, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that Long has never really felt like our player?

His heart's just not in it and it's plain for all to see.

He must have it in his contract that if he's fit he plays. He was fecking anonymous tonight and we looked clueless.
We actually looked good in the last 2 games with Obst controlling each set from tackle 3 onwards, Long comes back and it goes to pot. Long is here for the money, nothing else and I just can't see what he brings to the team.

He was rubbish. As a number 7 he should be setting up plays that involve a number of players. That way he would have options and then he just needs to pick the right pass. All we do is just drive it in or the odd drop off.

Very well said!! Don't wish injuries, but Long just clearly doesn't want to play for us....

Obst has been far better in 3 games than Long in his entire duration!!
