I agree that he is a legend of the club, a player that many fans, myself included have a lot of time for. However, we are a proffesional club - we can't carry players and Horney has had some tough times in the recent past, he looks like he is getting back to his best, but we certaintly shouldn't be thinking about a 2 year deal just yet imo.

The lad needs to hit some serious form this season before I'd offer him any deal to be honest. I've got nothing against Horney but his wage demands will far exceed his playing ability at ATM.

Seeing as neither of us know how much he earns this is just speculation....but.
50K of whatever we pay him comes from the 50K we are allowed extra for long serving players. I believe he is the only player who as been at FC 10 years so we would those this if he left.
So if we are paying 100k in effect it's only 50K which I think is money well spent |

300 Appearance in 12 seasons is an average of 25 games a season so not bad at all. Agree with alot of your points and I meant if he has a good run then he is worth another two years IMO.
