This is a major problem for us!

He consistently struggles to catch the ball in traffic.

Last night he blew 2 certain tries if he had caught a ball that was heading for his chest, one would have won us the game.

For a player whose strong point is running hard on good lines, I am wondering how much he really offers us.

Some people complain he is greedy. I don't think he is, it's just his skill level isn't high enough.

I know what you mean, he knocks on a bit, but I would have yeamo in the side. Especially in the Derby matches!

ok so yeaman fluffed a couple of moves but don't forget his offload led to our first try and he also put a quality hit on delaney i think

he may not have had his best game but he's probably still our best centre

Berrigan demonstrated what we have been missing for years and he's only half decent now. Yeaman's seeming guaranteed selection regardless of form is a nonsense IMO.

berrigan should play at centre .......in my opinion he is wasted at 9 and with the emergence of an 80 minute hooker in houghton, berro aint going to get a look in at 9.....
back to were he belongs, in the centres...granted he has lost a yard of pace but he has all the skills to play centre again for me......

I have said this about Yeaman for years. Over rated is how I would describe him. Equally he is symptomatic of what is wrong with English game. When he bombed the first effort after 5 mins it was gilt edged chance and yet we still hear chants of Yeamo Yeamo from some sections. Berro and Briscoe 3 and 4 next season and Yeamo can wait in the wings. If Calderwood had been fit this year I am sure Yeamo would have struggled for a game.

Can you imagine if Yeaman was picked for England and knocked on in his usual manner against the Aussies ? It is a possibility given he is in the training squad. Heaven forbid.

On current form i'm not sure how he keeps his place. His defensive mindset is terrible, as demonstrated in the first 2 mins when Maguire didnt even need to change direction to run round him.

Needs to improve big style for me.

Yeah he had a mare yesterday but against Wire he was very good so I don't know how you can slate his form as he performed well against Crusaders also. I have no doubt he will put in a massive performance for us on Saturday.

I don't get the whole he is overrated thing either (on this forum) as there are very very few positive comments about him.

Personally i've always rated Yeamo and have defended him a lot on here over the years, especially the whole 'he doesnt pass to his winger' arguement.

The one thing that has crept into his game this season is his poor defensive positional play. He also has started to drop the ball a lot when put into gaps where he'd have scored in the past. He appears to mentally have a real lack of focus.

Agreed, and the two things you mention there are supposed to be his strengths. I'm afraid he doesn't merit the automatic selection he gets and hasn't been the outstanding player in a game for not just weeks but seasons.

Yeamo is nailed on for the left centre spot for the next 2 seasons. Hopefully he'll regain his form and it wont stop Briscoe's development as a future world class centre.

Unfortunately if that is the case then we will lack strike power, craft, size, pace and footwork for the next 2 years at left centre. Not sure we can say that far ahead mind.
